Couple corrections:
1) You are not required to roll your window down any further than necessary to pass the officer paperwork. Being required to roll it down all the way is a myth and allows bad officers to pretend they smell something in order to obtain probable cause.
2) You do not have to ask for permission to get your paperwork if it is in a glovebox or other storage location. Only inform them of the location. If they refuse to let you obtain them, you cannot be charged for them. This is important to record.
Yea ur right u don’t HAVE to roll down ur window. But the cop also don’t HAVE to let u stay in the car. During any legal detainment, which a legal traffic stop Is. A cop can ask u to step out the car so if u wanna play little mind games go ahead but then when they ask u to step out. U HAVE to follow that lawful order(:🤡
@@georgej973 It's not a mind game. You and I are both right. They are not legally required to roll down their window and yes, an officer can order you out of your vehicle. The only caveat is that if it goes to court, the defense can ask what their reason was and they're required to articulate good cause for ordering someone out.

@@georgej973 That MAY be a reason but doesn't mean it has to be. Police can and have asked people to step out of vehicles for various reasons. And maybe I am hiding something. I have that right. If I am asked out of my vehicle, I roll the window all the way up, exit and lock the doors. My privacy is still hidden. We have rights for a reason.
And I have looked up the law. They DO need a reason but they don't have to disclose to the person they're pulling over. If asked in court, they do have to articulate in case it caused the situation to become escalated somehow. Any action of an officer has to be justified in court. If they claim "safety", they'll have to articulate facts that make it clear why they felt safety was a concern.
You should make a video better on citizens to protect their constitutional rights.

When gettin pulled over by a police officer, make sure u are recording the interaction, and ask for their name and badge number immediately.. Once uve got that information, exercise ur right to remain silent, and STFU.. The cop will either go back to his vehicle after gettin ur license, registration, and insurance, and just write u the ticket, or continue to engage u with probing questions.. If they continue and begin to get agitated with ur lack of responses, they might force u out of the vehicle and arrest u.. This is how u manufacture a lawsuit and hopefully a great payday from the city or town u were pulled over in. 💪🏿😎

I'm from Australia so it might be a little different. Be polite and curious keep hans on steering wheel. Don't answer any unnecessary questions. They always ask about why being stopped, where you been, where you are going. I answer I don't know why you stopped me and is it relevant where I have been or going and don't say anything else but don't be aggressive. Rember any thing you say can be used against you. Here they will only ask for your licence because they would already have that information from your plate. Also they are required to tell you before they start their name rank and from what station. If plain clothes I will always ask for some id and they are required to show it. Don't concent to any searrches of your car.

If you see those lights behind you. Just know they are not looking for casual conversation. They’re priorities are such.
1st- they are concerned about their safety even at the expense of innocent bystanders.
2nd-they want money(Civil asset forfeiture) or (revenue)tickets
3rd-they want to confirm their Ego
4th- they want an arrest so it looks good on their monthly report.
Last but not least they want to coerce you into helping them do their job. Don’t fall for it.

If asked how much cash you are carrying, perhaps that might be a good time to invoke your right to be silent and remain silent for the duration of the encounter. Many state courts have ruled that you may be detained only for a reasonable period of time for the officer to conclude the traffic stop - usually 15minutes or less - not 30 or 45 minutes while he summons a K-9 unit to sniff out your vehicle.
If the officer develops founded suspicion for something other than the initial reason for the traffic stop, you can be held for much longer. Such as seeing illegal drug paraphernalia in open view.
Basically, do everything the police officer says so that you're not beaten, killed or unlawfully arrested.

You should ask this immediately after he pulls you over. In "court-speak" saying, "Am I being detained, or am I free to go?" tells the court the stop is not voluntary (as if you have any choice in the matter of being pulled over) and he can't go on a fishing expedition and find more items to ticket (eg windshield obstruction, open container in the front seat, no seat belt, missing child car seat...the list goes on). It also puts him on the clock and, according to the Supreme Court, he cannot detain you for more than 20 minutes. Respect the law the police officer represents, but record everything, and flex your rights.
There is no clock, there is no legislated law or case law setting any precedent for any specified period of time. “Reasonable” is the standard for length of detainment based on the facts and circumstances. By default using lights to pull Somebody over is detaining them, you don’t need to ask if you’re free to go to establish this.

Uh... absolutely wrong on a whole bunch of points in this video. For 1 you only roll your window down about 2 to 3 in, lock all your doors, and absolutely do not get out of your car! Everybody has these rights cops don't have the right to just do whatever they want and boss you around or you around. And absolutely present or display your license registration and proof of insurance, I don't believe it says anything about handing it over, and make sure you know your rights. If you are polite and cooperative and have not violated anything really major the chance of you not getting a ticket is directly related to how you treat the cop. For every ticket he (or she) writes there is additional paper work, Wouldn't you think the cop would prefer to avoid that.
