Not many drummers sing, but Levon Helm always brought joy to the Band. He saw the birth of Rock and Roll...RIP Levon....🙏🥁💙
RIP Levon yer sadly missed. Thanks for Ophelia!!!!
I can never get enough of Levons raspy voice....RIP
To anyone who has watched "the last waltz". This is so reminding of the fact of how we age. But as Levon proves.. Age is just a number!!!!! Rock on!!!
Only the lucky ones have the privilege of getting old. :)
Is it just a number or is it something we can observe?
I think it had something to do with his multiple battles with cancer
We are so lucky to be able to watch Levon play the drums and sing. He was an absolute pro. My favorite. Interesting to see him NOT hit the snare and cymbal/high hat at the same time. Charlie Watts would approve!
I had not noticed that until you said so! It's a little peculiar, and I'm not sure what the benefit was
Amazing performance. Thanks Levon for all that you did with your music. Just joyful.
I have The Last Waltz DVD. It is a truly great one to own, a real Treasure.
New Orleans vibes rip mr. Helm
I’m too old... didn’t exist with this man. Legend.
Great to see Levon having so much fun.
yes, yes, Levon on vintage Slingerland drum kit.
I listen to this almost every day--- the shared and pure joy is explosive. A guaranteed lift for these old bones and spirit!
The Great Mr Helm.
Love Levon
Grande Levon ! 🙂
Such joy all over the stage!
God bless Levon Helm! He be a REAL music man!
My friend proclaims Neal Peart RIP to be his favorite drummer. Not for my money. Levon RIP played with such understated grace, never flamboyant (though he was charismatic), and he SANG, and played other instruments. Didn’t get any better. These days, it’s like who cares, everything on the radio (is that still a word?) is beat machine, loops, poured out of a can. Levon Helm will always be an inspiration to me.
So cool!
1:40 the "No Country for Old Men" vibe is strong in this one.
Superb. That's all.
Fantastic!!!!!!!
wow, I had goose bumps, this is soooo good thank you
Love those horns!
Fantastique
His voice got better as he aged.
Party anthem for friyah
❤
Did any one of you see "The Band perform at Luther Burbank Center many years back? Please let me know what year that was?????
These are musicians kids....
Dose this bass player live or work in Corona California across from the Fender guitar factory ? I met a guy that said to me "Tell them Lincoln sent Ya "just wondering??
Wow. The Thumbs-Down-Douche-Brigade even struck here ?
Four doth not a "brigade" make....
I didn't know the bad guy from no country for old men can play a guitar that good
You could have edited out Levon wiping away what was probably coughed up blood after the song...
Ophelia Shakespeare
