    I've made cleavers pesto today and it was absolutely delicious! I may have to make tincture out of it as well. 2 years ago I made willow bark tincture and I still have loads in the cupboard 😍

    Only found you today, love your easy, down to earth way of presentation. Though I've been a hobby home herbalist for many years, I'm always learning new things and looking forward to following your journey to becoming a professional medicinal herbalist 🥰

    Thanks for making your videos. I really enjoy them. I love making herbal teas and such and i do have some cleavers in my flower beds. I didn't know what to do with them so i chopped them up in my morning smoothie. I will be trying to make a tincture since watching you do this. Thanks!

    I've seen cleavers do amazing work on lymph issues (verified by imaging even) in short order really. Chickweed is a nice one with them too as they're both so cooling and good at subtly breaking up congestion in lots of forms. Currently using them to support some folks with thyroid issues as well. Loved the drying tip too!

      That's amazing I had no idea it had been verified by imaging! When the monograph is out the way I can't wait to do a deep dive into these plants 🌱
      Drying went so wrong the first time 🤣 I'm happy it worked out on the second go!

      @@thewisdomwench7908 yes with a friend of mine with a mystery illness & growths in the lungs. Months of usnea too plus others, but yeah it was a bit of a wow & yay moment to get that imaging validation!

      @@thewisdomwench7908 and on the drying, that makes total sense. I think I'd leave the oven door open a crack instead of all the way maybe. I've tried curing (air-drying) some recently and they're kinda sad though I'd blamed that on it being such a damp spring. So I'm going to try again in the dehydrator instead in hopes of some bright green crispies like you have there!

    I’ve mostly just been using my oven to dry out my plants (mostly because I don’t live alone) and I have a lot of success with it

    • @thewisdomwench7908

      That's great! Using the oven really worked for me, I would love to get a dehydrator at some point

  • @EmilySeeker
    @EmilySeeker Год назад +2

    Could you use a dehydrator to dry them? I made some cleaver juice and froze it into ice cube trays to use in my water. I love the thought of doing a tincture with it

    • @thewisdomwench7908
      @thewisdomwench7908  Год назад +1

      You absolutely could! It's on my list as something I'd like to own one day (I also really want to use one to make apple crisps 🤣).
      I didn't even think about freezing it, but that's genius! Especially with its high water content that's a fantastic way to get the goodness of the plant each day!!

      @@thewisdomwench7908 apple crisps are wonderful, I like to add some cinnamon to them to give extra flavour. A dehydrator is definitely worth investing in, I got one to dry my medicinal mushroom crops as I always end up with more than I can use at one time. Love you channel btw, thanks for all the great information.

    How did you dry the cleavers after you rinsed them (before you put them in the oven to dry out)?

  • @angelay1925
    @angelay1925 Год назад +1

    Once dried do you use the leaves and the stalks or just the leaves? I usually add them straight to my water (washed of course) and let it sit in the fridge over night. A nice refreshing (and beneficial) drink the next day

    • @thewisdomwench7908
      @thewisdomwench7908  Год назад +1

      I use the stalks too, I crush the plant quite small after drying so all the dried tea is of about the same consitency 🌱 Thats such a good idea! I think i'll try thay with my cleavers next year... also maybe cleavers ice cubes!

    • @thewisdomwench7908
      @thewisdomwench7908  Месяц назад

      Try it out! It might have to go through a few times as cleavers have a very high water content. But certainly give it a go and let us know!

      @@thewisdomwench7908 It worked very well. Washed, air dried for several hrs, then into excalibur at 105 degrees for almost 4 hrs.Perfecto and nice and dark green. Highly recommend it
