  • When African governments promote a medicinal plant as a panacea remedy, you know it must be something special. African wormwood is that plant. Found widely across the continent and known for its many well-documented traditional and modern medicinal uses, this is the perfect medicinal plant species with which to kick off my new series!

    I'm from South Africa and this plant was a very well loved and familiar plant in your garden .it was basically used for most ailments 😂 amongst the coloured community.l remember asking my mom when l was much younger around 10 years old what's this plant was good for as she had stomach cramps and she replied...Als is goed Vir Alles...no particular ailment was mentioned..

    I watched your video about a month a go to edicate myself about this wonder plant. I bought 6 artemisia afra plants from a local gardener. Today, just after a few minutes of sniffing its leaves, my blocked nose is fully cleared! I was doubtful, but it worked like a miracle

    Artemisia absinthium is said to kill cancer cells by stoping the iron absorption of the cancer cells.
    It's also good for the treatment of yeast infections (Kills Candida), the treatment of SIBO (Small intestine bacterial overgrowth) and great for MRSA (Staff infections)

    Hi we have this plant growing on the farm and one in the garden.
    I am very interested in using it in deworming of sheep any ideas how? There is a lot of resistance showing up to the main stream doses that are on the market.

    Hi. If taking capsule form for digestive issues and bloating, what dosage are we looking at and do you take with or away from food? Please advise

    • @AfricanPlantHunter
      @AfricanPlantHunter  Год назад +4

      I couldn't answer that as there are so many factors that would affect dosage. If the plant was harvested fresh or dry, when it was harvested, how long since the harvest, how quickly the harvested material had been put into capsules etc. All of these factors would influence efficacy. The good news is that there are very few known toxicological issues with this plant. I would suggest trying it as a tea first and seeing if it is effective like that. Add honey to make it palatable, otherwise it will be too bitter to consume!

    Hi Gus, sorry to bother you.
    I have a request, and only you can do it on RUclips.
    Kindly do a video on that tree that squeezes other trees a climber. It has milk which is used as glue, and is poisonous. When you meet it It can look like a giant snake has curled itself around a tree. Please I think a lot of people don't know about it.
