Thanks bud! That sauce was awesome for real and it was super easy to make. I really like shark meat and when you keep just 1 shark you still end up with alot of meat. You ever try to fish for sharks? I seen you fishing at the coast in one of your recent videos.

Is mullet better than lady fish

Both make great bait. Mullet is my favorite frozen bait shop bait, but i generally prefer to use a high low rig with 2 #4 hooks and 1/3 of a shrimp and a small piece of sand flea fishbites per hook and catch whatever is in the surf for bait. Typically blue fish and whiting.

do you use the fins and head for anything ? Always wondered what happens to those

I do trim off the meat thats on the top of the head, there is actually alot of meat there and on the bigger sharks i will keep the jaws and clean them up for the wall. I didn’t keep the jaws from that shark. I did actually keep the fins to make shark fin soup from that shark. I have never made the soup before, it seems like alot of work. You have to boil the fins then get strips of cartilage out of them and dehydrate the strips and you add the strips to your soup and they are supposed to be good. I will try that with that sharks fins when i have enough time to do the process.

Is there a time of year to do this I’m taking a trip up there in August?

All summer long is really the best time to catch sharks in the surf. I was fishing in mid september that day which is on the end of the season before they begin to move south to warmer waters. August should be really good for you bud. You can buy bait at half hitch (awesome store) or you can catch whiting in the surf. Fresh caught whiting cut in half on a 12/0 circle hook with an 8oz sinker out past the first sand bar should do the job perfectly. Good chance at a big redfish also fishing like that. Good luck!
