The story in Lay's "Lit" MV, he said, is based on his favorite Chinese historical figure. In the MV he is portraying a Chinese general who has been trapped by the Han soldiers while trying to rescue his wife. The general is a real historical figure named Xiang Yu, who fought in the battle of Gaixia. In the beginning of the MV you hear a Peking opera singer performing “The Song of Gaixia” (A traditional Chinese Opera song), which is a song that Xiang Yu composed for his wife, Lady Yu, who eventually took her own life. He takes this title and makes it his own and states he is the white lotus but not for that reason. Lotus grow from the mud, a dirty environment and white ones are super pretty. Pretty sure you're correct. Even I.M. left MonstaX's label, but continues to promote and perform with his group mates. GOT7 pretty gave JYP the middle and each work on their individual project, yet came together as a group for a comeback album.
The reason why he's not allowed to perform with EXO is because Lay is very big in China, like... Really big. The tension between both countries is better now but now Lay has a very solid solo career and he's busy. He's not with EXO right now mostly because he doesn't have the time.

Pretty sure you're correct. Even I.M. left MonstaX's label, but continues to promote and perform with his group mates. GOT7 pretty gave JYP the middle and each work on their individual project, yet came together as a group for a comeback album.
I believe it is due to Lay being an official ambassador for the country of China, which is why he isn’t allowed to promote in Korea.
The reason why he's not allowed to perform with EXO is because Lay is very big in China, like... Really big. The tension between both countries is better now but now Lay has a very solid solo career and he's busy. He's not with EXO right now mostly because he doesn't have the time.

What I mean with really big is that he's a very influential artist in China. At that time, he wasn't allowed to be with EXO for the reason that the government and people would tell that he was on SK' side and introducing propaganda. Now that things are better... He's busy with his solo career and his tour.😭
