just think, had we kept building electric cars since the 1890's,we would have been much farther along in the development of batteries, controller's,motor's etc.

@gunsigma Of course a gas engine isn't designed to reduce efficiency! Its just an unavoidable side effect of having heaps of moving parts.

That`s a great idea, I hope there`ll be soon a good EV in mass production.

For the consumer market, I would like to see quad in hub motors instead. I have no problem with the way it looks as it now stands, but I think 8 wheels is overkill from a maintenance and budget standpoint. Get rid of the dual steer rack & pinion gearing, and use what is already inherently available in the design of separate hub motors, oppositional-directional wheel torque steering (ODWTS). Similar to zero turns radius on mowers--inbound wheels moving slower (or reverse) than outboard wheels.

ダンケ. Vielen Dank an Herrn Hiroshi Shimizu für die langjährige Entwicklungsarbeit. Sie haben verstanden worum es geht. ダンケ. individuel vemittelt universel, strukturel, modular, kombinierbar, elektisch. Thank you for you effort in thinking and works.

Would you like to cite a source on that one? I read that even if powered by pure coal fuel from a power station, that an electric car would still be much less polluting than a petrol powered one. So where exactly does your reasoning come from?

What an awesome machine. I wonder what it handles like. Presumably those wheel motors mean a lot of unsprung weight, but complete independent wheel control, without differentials or "old fashioned" traction control with the brakes. They should make a sports version.

no es supertecnologia es simple sentido comun!!! las ruedas con el motor unido y el chasis de baterias igual yo lo hubiera puesto paneles solares y baterias recambiables ademas de hacerlo un poco menos pretencioso y mas practico para el uso cotidiano

Even a coal plant would be better. They run steam turbines in excess of 6000 psi and thus because compression ratio is so much higher their carnot cycle efficiency is higher.

Magnetophiles think they have some magic quality that creates energy - send them back to high school physics!

actually we will have a electric car comming out by the end of the year that can go 0 to 60 in 4 seconds. Look up "tesla roadster."

I wondet why the eliica with such power of 478000Kw/h and a great relation of 3,75kg/hp and only makes 380km/h, It should be more, my unique answer i get is the bad aerodynamic, and the increasing of resistence. What i wanna say is that a motor of 350W can acelerate a person of 70kg till 16km/h in a skateboard that is a relation of 140kg/Hp. Eliica have a relation of 3,75kg/Hp. Both uses brushless motors controlled electronicaly. With that relation, the eliica should have a top speed higher.

    that's stupid!
if u break a joint it will coast u MORE!!!
it is a stupid design to use energy,
he should not use this way and use as perendev way is using. ;) enjoy
