The swing away wheel! I had a 1964 Bird back in the day, and I loved seeing passengers' reactions to that feature. My '64 also also had an issue with the window regulator.
In 1967, Ford introduced an update on the Swing-a-Way wheel for Thunderbirds, Mustangs, and Cougars - the Tilt-a-Way column that would flip to the side automatically when the driver's door was opened and it would also adjust vertically. I assume it remained standard on the Birds, but was an option on Cougars and Mustangs. The best of both worlds!
Thanks Bill - always enjoy your presentations.
I appreciate that!

I think it is cooler than tilt!

Bill - beautiful 1964 T Bird. 😊
Thanks! It is a 63 actually. I know they are hard to tell apart.
Except it’s a ‘63.
These were a really nifty car in their day. My father in law had a ‘66, ‘70 & ‘73 after his neighbor bought a new ‘63.
For sure!
