Thanks for the video. Mine just threw a code 18 with OEM engine and cables disconnected out of nowhere. I'll try tomorrow to see if I can figure out the issue with the servo. Otherwise I'll try your solution
@@KeithFox i like the sound from the valve being always open. Plus the bike was running good before without the cables so idk if that's the gonna the issue. No cables should allow the servo to rotate easier
So if this can help anyone, i opened mine and a little tooth of one of the sprocket broke and was jamming the mechanism. I pulled the whole gear out but it didn't worked right away. I turned the bike on and off about 10 times and reconnected the cable a couple of times and also turned with my hand the position sensor and it started working again, no more check engine . I'll report back if issue restart
Keith man sorry to bother u but I gotta question, did u notice the wire harness leading to the exo motor box heating up after u did the mod?? @@KeithFox
Hey no I didn't, but then again after making sure nothing was incorrectly touching, I put it back in the box and bolted it on. Haven't noticed any heating up but then again never touched it since.
Dude weird deal, Im getting those wires heating up, U can actually smell the plastic while riding!!! But yet they dont melt!! Im just wondering if I F'ed something up, I mean I used exact same stuff u did on your video, same ratings on capacitor/resistor. Maybe something inside the box melting??? The box is not hot. And I dont see what cud be hot inside there anyway I took everything out of that box like u did. Hey, who knows!!! As of yet it hasnt caused any problems and light stayed off!
How you doin Keith. I got a question about my 04 Yamaha R1. I have that code 17. I just replaced the servo Exup for code 18. 17 code came on. Can you please guide me on what to do? Thank you.
Yamaha R6 2006year. There is no idle on my motorcycle. I started motor and hold the gas knob. It works as it should. I release the gas and the motor stalls. Please tell me what could be the problem?
For your scenario, have you changed anything recently on it? If so I would start there. If not, is the gas old, like from over winter? Does it need new spark plugs? Does it throw any error codes at you? Check the throttle body idle screw. It might need a quarter turn to the right to add a bit more fuel to the idle. You want the idle about 1250 rpm.
Hi, I tried, but it didn't work. After doing all the steps, when I have the bypass installed the bike doesn't START and the light of the immobilizer system is flashing, when disabling the bypass the bike returns to START. My bike is a 2006+ Yamaha R6! What am I doing wrong? Thanks!
ok let me be frank here. I didn't create your error codes. Like I said, your bike has other issues. let's go through them. 13: Intake air pressure sensor: open or short circuit detected. 15: Throttle position sensor: open or short circuit detected 21: Coolant temperature sensor: open or short circuit detected. 22: Intake air temperature: open or short circuit detected. 41: Lean angle sensor: open or short circuit detected. IF you are saying these codes came up after, then you must have soldered it incorrectly. I DID not give you false information. Do not blame me for your mistake.
@@KeithFox I’m not blaming you man, I’m just warning other people that there’s a risk of burning the ecu if it’s not done correctly or idk what happened to my bike. So i think they would rather have the error 17 than a dead bike sleeping in the garage .
Yeah I don't have a video for that but I should be able to help. There are two sensors on top of the ram air box. One is for air temperature and one is for atmospheric pressure. The error code 23 needs to replace the atmospheric pressure sensor on top of the ram air box. You're going to have to lift up the gas tank to get to it which is not too difficult. Sorry for the delay in response time.
Not sure exactly why it takes so long for the error to trip. I got my bike used with the slip on added already and when I got the bike there was no error codes showing. Maybe somebody had reset it somehow? Not likely really, but maybe these things just take time to settle out to realize somethings different. Must be based on mileage or hours or something I'm assuming. I also had the bike for like a year before I saw the code come up.
Good work Keith
Thank you sir! I appreciate you
Toops I heard what happened through Sam. I hope you are ok my friend!
@@KeithFox I am.
Plus I have a great scar on my head and I shave my head so it looks gnarly
I'm glad you're ok. I have been worried and nobody replied to my text message
@@KeithFox what’s the parts call and where I can order it
Had to buy a different capacitor but still got a 470uf and 35v and the same resistor you used - Worked for me and my 07 r6!!
THANK YOU so much brother! Hope you still have that beautiful bike, had one just like it .
I don't unfortunately. Got a different Yamaha now, an 02 thundercat yzf 600r. You can see it in some of my motovlog videos. It's orange
Hell yea, worked for me. Got the parts from Radio Shack. $5 total with shipping.
Thanks very much! I finally removed the error code. Cheers bro!
Hell yeah congrats!
Very good video, help me so much. nNot engine light anymore .Thanks a lot !
Gracias cuñado

Just reconnect the cables if you didn't modify the exhaust brotha

spark plugs, or fuel. When's the last time it had a tune-up?
Think I’m just going to buy the Graves version. Save a bit of weight by getting rid of that black box.

It works for R1 2007??
It should yes
Hi I know this is pretty old but will error 17 and 18 cause no start
It won't stop the bike from running for the error.

Why would you not heat shrink your work just in case so you can’t end up with a short.
Good point.
it works for r1 2006?
yes, sir, This should work fine for that model as well.
I tried it and now i have fault codes 13 15 17 18 21 22 23 41 and 59 and i don’t know what’s wrong with the bike 😢😢 thanks for the fult codes
