  • Using some handrails, plywood and steel lead screw I was able to put together a heavy duty, large book press for comparatively cheap!
I used my cnc for most of the cuts but they are simple so you could do it with hand tools or a jigsaw and get the same outcome.
    Part list:
    1 x 500mm Trapezoidal Lead Screw - 40mm Diameter (got mine from www.accu.co.uk/)
1 x 40mm Inside diameter Lead screw nut (where ever you buy these parts from will usually suggest the right size for you)
1 x Flange bearing (inside diameter same as your lead screw)
    4 x M10 Lag Bolts
Plywood (i went with 15mm thickness, the base and plate are 18mm thick plywood for more rigidity)
2 x 34mm diameter steel rail (each is 750mm length)
8 x steel rail collars, make sure same diameter as your steel tubing
JB Weld On and Gorilla Wood Glue
Shout out to ‪@DASBookbinding‬ for the amazing bookbinding channel and resource he has put together!
