The answer Joe gave to the question about Michael Johnson’s league is what I’ve been thinking for years. Throwing is a strength sport and shot put especially is, I’m a huge strongman and weightlifting fan and I think the fans of those sports would see the same thing I do in the shot put. I knew Joe was one of my favorite throwers but my opinion of him just continues to grow as time goes on
@@bacon66277 yeah, I know. Watched him throw bombs in a practice session before the world championships last year. He had one at 24 meters…….and stepped over. In fact all of his big throws he stepped out. Which begs the question, why is he intentionally stepping out so much?
So in practice, the first thing on the throwers mind isn’t about staying in, it is about staying smooth. Smooth, equals fast, and fast allows for more power. Joe is not off balance when his foot plants outside the toe board, which means that there is a great possibility if he keeps his leg up, he can catch it on the reverse

Never going to happen unless he is juiced!
His stomach and moobs are definitely ready, he’s not beating Crouser.
