The trouble is not the prices but the availability of film. There are still some relatively cheap films out there, like Colorplus and Gold 200, it's just that the supplies are so low they're sold out straight away. At least that's what it's like in Australia.
Colorplus and gold are becoming easier to get here but it’s the same as they go real quick. Also their prices are close to what Portra was a few years ago. Shopping online is easier in general but there are times were calling into a shop is more convenient

Film costs are certainly getting out of hand and they might kill the growth.
Hopefully the rises slow down, or there’s more budget friendly options made available
