- Here, taketh thine sandwich of vegemite, traveller. A bardcore version of Land Down Under!
If you enjoy this sort of music, do go check out Cornelius Link, Hildegard von Blingin' and the_miracle_aligner! There's a host of artists doing this kind of music at the moment, which is calling itself 'bardcore' as far as I can tell.

Travelin' yn a chipped up carriage
On the kings road, I shan't disparage
I met a strange lady, she made me nervous
She tooketh me and gave me breakfast
And she sayeth
Doon thou come from a lande of yonder?
Where women sow and thanes plunder?
Cans't thou hear, cans't thou hear the thunder?
Thou better run, thou better take cover
Buyin wares from a man in Hamburg
He stood two yards, and then a three footer
I said, "Doon thou speaketh my language?"
He juste smiled and then some venison brandische'd
And he spake
I come from a land of yonder
Where mead doth flow and men chunder
Cans't thou hear, cans't thou hear the thunder?
Thou better run, thou better take cover, yeah
Lyin' in ol' London bay
With a slack jaw, and not much to say
I spake to the man, "Art thou trying to tempt me
For I cometh from the land of plenty?"
And he said, oh
Doon thou come from a lande of yonder? (Ooh yay yay)
Where women sow and thanes plunder?
Cans't thou hear, cans't thou hear the thunder?
Thou better run, thou better take cover (for we doth)
Livin' in a land of yonder
Where women sow and thanes plunder?
Cans't thou hear, cans't thou hear the thunder?
Thou better run, thou better take cover
Livin' in a lande of yonder? (Ooh yay yay)
Where women sow and thanes plunder?
Cans't thou hear, cans't thou hear the thunder?
Thou better run, thou better take cover (for we doth)
Livin' in a land of yonder (ooh yaay)
Where women sow and thanes plunder?
Cans't thou hear, cans't thou hear the thunder?
Thou better run, thou better take cover
Livin' in a land of yonder (livin' in a land of yonder)
Where women sow and thanes plunder?
Cans't thou hear, cans't thou hear the thunder?
Even better than the pinned one I think.

No. You heard a rumour that if you did your time and kept your nose clean, they gave you land. And they didn't lie.
It was a pig theft that brought my lineage to Australia.

what a time to be alive to experience the birth of bardcore. i love this!!
You know that's what this kind of music will be call forever now right?? 😭😭😭🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!
😂😂😂 I'm dying! I never had a word for it before
People got bored and made a new genre lol
Did you just coin that term? 😮
@@marleywalker3284 it's a whole new genre that has recently gotten popular, you can search on RUclips "Hardcore" and you'll find many playlists with very new remixes
I hear the clap track was all the rage in the Middle Ages.
this will be a severely underrated comment
It is a mill-tread with people running and clapping.
In all seriousness it probably was. It's the simplest instrument that everyone has.

I don't know why RUclips is recommending me medieval twists on modern music BUT I AM SO HERE FOR IT
Don't question it, just enjoy it. It's a thing, it's in our lives and we're better off for it
That's the mood. To everyone's surprise, sometimes the algorithm does something good.
I'm here because of all the 1980s remixes I've been bopping to during the 21st century plague.
Lol RUclips started showing me these types of videos in recommended tonight and I love this discovery of bardcore
because it's recent and trendy, so yt thinks everyone wants to see it
did you know the reason kangaroos are so ripped is because they have to hold on the under side of the flat earth where there is no gravity
Yes Earth is flat and hollow after all.. (though there is no gravity, just Relative Density Disequilibrium, and Australia is on the other side not underside, but don't let science stop the fun here..)
@@skyisthelimitreadyornotfor2 good job, einstein. want a cookie?

An alternate history where Australia has Kingdoms and evolves into a colonial empire.
Discovered the island of Britain and turned it into a penal colony with f*cked up weather.

Impossible. Bring out the branding irons.
Doomrider don’t forget about how the same bard tells tales of a land where men fought and lost a war against two meter tall birds
Imagine if Australia had been discovered during medieval times. The depictions of australian fauna would have been hilarious.
Trees that bursts to flame come summer and small bears with big noses that climb and eat its leaves.
Birds that are on par with the giant birds of Africa that can defeat a kingdom even with an ample supply of bolts and quivers, and some can kill with a single kick.
Trees that can give you everlasting pain by just a mere touch.
Deers hopping on two legs with its tail larger and longer than its arms, and with a sack in its front to keep its child.

Nah, New Holland matey.
Should begin, “Comest thou from yon lande downe under?” “Doth ye cometh” is very awkward in any idiom.
*Round of applause*
Couldn't agree more - I've seen so many attempts at 'olde English' fail miserably because people simply haven't got a clue. For instance, 'thine' equates to 'yours' not 'your', which is 'thy' and incidentally is the familiar form of 'you', when the English language still had the distinction between formal and informal forms of address, much as today's European languages still do. The opening line of this should be 'Dost thou come' or 'Cometh thou'.
If you're going to attempt archaic English, at least get it right!
Also -th is a third person verb ending. It is not a second person ending or an infinitive ending.
@@jennydixon9047 I think you can use thine to mean "your" if the word after starts with a vowel, so thy banana vs thine apple
I was going to say the same, but I was afraid to look like a nerd. You're a braver soul than I am.
Brent Thomson _ye_ is an entirely different pronoun from “thou”. _Ye_ is the second person plural subject form, of which its object form is _you_ whereas “thou” is the subject form of the second person singular.

They need to start playing these remixes at medieval times
I mean if you invent a time machine and go back to medieval times I think they'd be more impressed with your phone than the fact that there's a song that sounds like a dubstep version of what they're used to
Why is this the most beautiful song I have ever heard??? It's borderline moving.
Just realized… as a medieval tune this is no longer about Australia, but is instead about the “Little People Under the Hill” and the implications are hilarious. 🧚♂️🤣
Just the Fae running into each other while messing with mortals. Or that one old lady in every village you can’t possibly mess with because she knows all the tricks, but will absolutely feed you a good meal. 🤣🤣🤣
Why so many medieval-style music in youtube those weeks? Are all dead and resting in the paradise?
I think it's because Cornelius Link's Astronomia cover was thrown around so much, and everyone saw what a cool idea it was
this whole shit was sparked by the coffin dance meme beeing turned into an medieval style. and thus, this continious stream of medieval style music was populariced,
the coronavirus knocked us back to the middle ages.

From the first sounds, this medieval stylization takes you back to childhood, to the fairy tales of the brothers Grimm, Andersen. Thank you so much!
