I'm dyslexic and I read subtitles just fine. English isn't even my native language and I still have no problem reading subtitles in English. Sometimes I actually prefer it, because the Danish subtitles are just translations of the English subtitles and therefore even less accurate.
@@isabbasiellaalle At least for swedish subtitles, I feel like they also often cut stuff out in bizarre ways. Like some really aggressive editor that's only skim-reading the original
@@metallsnubben As a fellow Swede, I can confirm this, my parents aren’t very good at English so we have Swedish subtitles when we watch stuff together. And the translations are decent, especially for the streaming services contra TV, but some parts you’re really like “I could’ve translated that so much better” 😂

As someone adopted at 14 I just wanna say thank you. A lot of us age out and don’t ever get a family, so thank you for providing her with a good one! Foster care is scary and painful, so I’ll always celebrate someone getting out of it, welcome back Merph!

I loved those books so much when I was a kid and more recently, the Netflix adaptation reinvigorated my love for them

The subtitles thing was a reasonable guess. Plenty of people have issues with subtitles, even without dyslexia; adding that into the mix as well is just a recipe for difficulty.

What a coincidence I just went to my first physical last week and found out I'm basically blind in one eye and need glasses lol nice ad timing
On being early: I'm definitely an early arriver. I believe this began early in my long-ago military career. I arrived at an appointment exactly on schedule, to be informed that SOP was for people to arrive fifteen minutes early. My appointment was cancelled for being 'late'. I of course had to re-schedule, which got me in trouble with my unit for needing to be excused from duty twice for the one appointment. Ever since then, I've made it a point of arriving NTL 30min prior to all scheduled appointments. For those appointments that specify to arrive 15min early, I arrive NTL 30min prior to the 15min 'early' arrival requirement. Given the choice, I'd rather arrive hours early than be 'on time'.
I was in a choir when I was younger where the director drilled into us that "Early is on time, on time is late, and late is unacceptable." Good words to live by.

Love how the commenter mentioned a D&D subclass, and Merphy then went to explain the races she played and the personality the characters had. Merphy, the "Great Old One" is a subclass of Warlock in which the Warlock's patron is a creature that would fit in the Cthulhu mythos. Usually a large powerful creature that isn't a god but is beyond human comprehension. Although, for someone who isn't familiar with the subclass name, it does come across as a personality type for a character.

I have lots of food allergies as well. I've recently started cooking a lot more, and you're right - it's so much easier because I can play with recipes to make the stuff I want without any of the problems.

Not only am I a Kentuckyian I live about ten minuets from the ALE8 bottling plant basically it's a regional ginger ale, I only drink it late at night because it is one of the few beverages that do not tirn me into an insomniac. But for whatever reason my middleschool loved the stuff and the most hotly contested Christmas white elephant exchange I have ever seen was the year someone put down a 24 case of the stuff for the middleschool Christmas party. It was like setting a wheel of cheese in front of starving rats.

I actually DON'T recommend you to make One Piece week-to-week reviews.
1) It will quickly overtake your channel
2) Sometimes there is not much to say about the chapter of the week
I would recommend a One Piece month-to-month review instead, during Oda's breaks for example.

My mom was also the type who would let me bring home anyone and feed them or let them sleep over if they needed and I didn't realize how awesome she was until more recently

Once travel is a safe thing to do again, I would heartily recommend a family trip to Prince Edward Island. Yes, there are probably too many Anne Of Green Gables themed souvenirs etc but it is a beautiful place. The red sand beaches near Cavendish are especially wonderful.

If you haven't read them already, I heartily recommend The Brothers Lionheart by Astrid Lindgren, to read with your children. Or any Astrid Lindgren novels for that matter. In my opinion she's the best children's author of all time.

I understand the submission that thought you were a homebody. How else would you mange to be such an avid reader? Sitting still and focusing is how I manage this. I was surprised to hear otherwise. By the end I was hearing how much you like to explore. That makes total sense then. You explore so many worlds and places, within pages and without.
