Rob / @motobob and Tim / @rarefiedroad discuss what they think might be coming from Scrambler Ducati...
Ahhh after Icon and before Desert there was Urban Enduro of 1 season in 2016 :)
I remeber seeing a photo of Casey Stoner riding it in Australia, and run to buy one to my dealership and got it till now :)
What a coincidence. I was just looking to find the Desert Sled only to realise Ducati made the poorest of choices to leave it out of the gamma
Scrambler X? Dessert X Dakar styling on the aircooled platform, lightened ruggedised?
Scrambler mono? Put that new hyper single lump to work in a retro package?
Ducati design engineers have so many toys to play with atm- must be a fun place to work!
I like the way you’re thinking. 👍🏻
When do we get a 698 version with the electronic package?
The Ducati desert sled is an iconic bike. so much so that Hero Xpulse 4v 200 is based partially if not completed on it. Ducati has always been into NLP setting trends for bike manufacturers.👍🏻
I'm running a 2021 Desert Sled at the moment. They've softened off the throttle on the later ride by wire version. Maybe by a little too much. To me it feels as though it should have a little more snap off the bottom end.
From the wording I don't think it'll be a Desert Sled you'll be seeing at the show. I'm going with limited edition paint schemes. Either in association with an artist or a brand crossover like they did with Diesel in the past.
I put a G2 throttle tube and new throttle cam on my 2021 desert sled. I think I went with the 600 which gives the bike about 25% more throttle response. Man what a difference! So worth it. The bike is way more livelier off the line in a good way without being to snappy.
@@danmcgowan4761 Oh, thanks for that info Dan. I was under the impression that the newer models couldn't be fitted with cams. Good to know 👍🏻
Gotta do an update now that they’ve shown the concepts!
I own a scrambler sled 22’
I love it it’s so agile and light and very comfortable to drive did a 3500km trip back to my home country and enjoyed every moment!
There are two thing which need to be put in it first a proper cruise control and a good at least 5inch digital gauge can be round idc but that would be very good and a little more power wouldn’t hurt either at least 85ps would do the job🫡
How wrong was I?!! Two concepts.
The RR looks like my cuppa tea. Reminds me a lot of my Svartpilen 401 with those tail and tank racks.
How about a Desert X with scrambler styling ???
Take my money 💰
It’s always an English Language lesson when you listen to the Full Tank Motorcycle Podcast ! 😀🇬🇧
I'll just say that if it were to come down to it, I'd sell a kidney before I sell my desert sled. The only way it would ever go away, is to possibly trade it in on a new version, IF its better.
Desert sled is 30kg to heavy. Make it 150kg (as ktm smc r is) and then take my money
I still love my Sled Fasthouse😊
What about a 400 CC Ducati Scrambler to compete with the Triumph 400 X at a lower price point?
Wasn’t that the Sixty2 from a few years ago?
@@keanesee01 Yes, was. But it was expensive to be competitor to Triumph 400
Ducati Scrambler Adventure.
Would Ducati go the other direction regarding the engine? A 400 to compete with the RE and Triumph scramblers in that class?
You aren't really scrambling with a 400 at that weight
I think it wouldn’t sell just due to the price. Unless they decide to make it in China (not going to happen). Plus the 800 can be bought as A2 compatible so no reason to make a 400. I’d go with the Desert Sled
@@logangodofcandy a 400 would weigh less
@@jakelowe8583 ahh yes the price would halt that idea, ducati wouldnt make them in india or china like the other 400s are, even the Harley 400 went there....
@@Beer_goggles I own the next gen Icon and the weight is no issue, all low down and it's a very light bike anyway compared to it's rivals. I think the Sixty2 weighed almost the same as the current Icon.
New 1100 models?
Maybe change the name to MotoBob Podcast Clips ? 🤔
Baja 2025 😉
Scrambler liquid cooled would be nice
Air cooled has a soul
