I'm trying to get my Honda dealer to repair this issue for me. We've already ruled out the keys. I think it's the immobilizer module in the ignition acting up. It's intermittent also. I keep asking them if they can see these faults in the OBD history and they're not giving a straight answer. This issue then generates an engine code for "extended crank" which makes sense.
Great video! I had a similar issue years ago with the same symptoms. It was actually an old killswitch installed on a manual transmission because of a remote start. The remote start was removed but the wire was faulting in the steering column causing the same issue. Cheers!

I believe this happened to me like 2 years ago and mechanic just pulled my alarm system off.
That makes sense 👍🏼
My car does same thing except it starts and dies after 5 seconds and just keeps doing that anybody can help me please
Hi ...i have same issue but i tried valet key and that one gives me same issue.....Any ideas?
Unfortunately there is no easy way to determine your problem without going through the diagnostic procedure
Is there a red flashing dot appear after you locked the car? Is the immobilizer activate
I’m having the same issue with my Honda 2018 it has a red dot too
Your there change the battery. Poor maintenance advice.
Thank you
