The Bulls era looked magical. When the reporters and Michael were all drunk in the hotel room celebrating together it made me realize how special that must have been.
It really was. Road games for the Bulls sometimes felt like home games with the way how the crowd cheered
Should change the landscape on how future documentaries are made. Brilliant!
overreaction monday
You need to create history that's special and unique in order to make a documentary like that. This kind of history only happens once in a lifetime.

Yeah, i like the documentary for sure! But my god the jumping around was aweful. I cant wait for the reddit edit that puts all that footage in order...
Big Reiner thank you. It was all about money. Just like Jordan. All about money. Still the GOAT of basketball tho.
That final highlight montage with Pearl Jam's "Present Tense" playing....whoa. That was good.
Dennis Rodmans favorite band
I lived a few miles away from Michaels palace in Highland Park when a friend called one Halloween and said Jordans GATE was open so we piled a few of the neighborhood kids into the car and sure enough, there he was opening the door and handing out candy. When my buddy remarked that he better stock up once people notice that his gate is open he said Juanita has already had to run out TWICE! Needless to say? Everybody was thrilled....
Watching this Doc showed me that winning championship is hard and it is just something else. I always thought Lebron going to the play offs that many times was a great, but winning a championship and just going to the play offs are two different thing.
A lot of things were skipped or severely shortened in the 1992 episode. That was a huge year for Jordan: making the "Jam" music video w/ Michael Jackson, the Knicks taking the Bulls to 7 games, no Drexler interview, etc...
Ooohh that Knicks series. Man that was intense.
💯👍🏾
@@Wis_Dom They weren't little, just numerous compared to the other episodes.
@@Wis_Dom The Knicks almost eliminating the Bulls in the playoffs (aka the start of the Bulls-Knicks rivalry) and Clyde Drexler's views on the '92 Finals are very important stories for that year. Both of which happened in the NBA, hence no rights issue.
@@Wis_Dom I was implying that you avoided the Knicks & Drexler just to seem right to begin with. My two out of three vs your one out of three. Ditto on the rest of your reply.
I remember watching the first episode and seeing that there was going to be ten episodes and all 50minutes plus. I thought, how could they possibly have that much to talk about without it being stretched out too much. But it was anything but.. actually would have been nice to see two more episodes about Jordan returning for Washington
Ok but can we talk about how that pizza place literally poisoned MJ and he still beat the Jazz the next day
Isn't that just obviously a bald-faced lie though?
So Jerry’s to blame for literally the rise and fall. 😂😂 R.i.p.
Jordan is responsible for the rise. A blind man could see that
Krause put the right guys around him. Too bad Reinsdorf didn't want to keep on paying everyone.
I agree 100%. This was an awesome documentary. I wish that there were a couple of more episodes
you all nailed it the 2 Jerry's were why the dynasty ended and it was because of 2 things ego's and being cheap skates
"I've seen maybe six documentaries ever, of which, five were about sports. This is the best documentary ever made!!!" -- Pat
It made me miss sports more
That Pearl Jam song at the end is absolute perfection. That took it over the top for me.
Absolutely! Not only was it very well made, but it solidified the fact that Jordan is the GOAT and Lebron should never even be in the same conversation as him!
"You never leave your fo sho team looking for Mo team, because you may end up with No Team"- PREACH!!!!!
I'm from the UK and know nothing about basketball. It's the best documentary I've ever seen.
Right? Better than all the well done sports doc I’ve watched over the years
6 NBA Championships from 1991 to 1998..led by the greatest player who ever lived..the 1990's Bulls are the greatest dynasty in modern sports..from 1996 to 98 they had a combined record of 203 wins and only 43 losses..and never lost 3 games in a row during the 1990's with MJ.. without a doubt the greatest dynasty since the 1960's Celtics.
Best SPORTS documentary ever
MJ even got the best of players that he felt disrespected him in the Wizard years!! Look up the Doug Collins interview about coaching Jordan with Washington.
Damn I need to see this documentary
It was good. I couldn't wait to go home every Sunday to watch it
You really do, bro. Best doc I've ever seen by a wide margin
Asap brother... asap
Yes you do!!!!
The joke people keep saying, about the Bulls still building. They put together a formidable team, but Rose got injured and it killed everything. People forget how good that team was.
No doubt, youngest mvp in history and one of the best defensive teams since the 90s
That D Rose injury tho 😮 my boy was on the come up and his knee derailed it too sad
This kind of reminded me of just how good Jordon was. Anybody who claims Lebron is better never seen Jordon play. You watched Micheal Jordon because he might do something you had never seen before.
What is hard to explain and fully understand too is his other worldly (literally) popularity at that time. I mean he wasn’t just a national American basketball player. He was as big as John Lennon or Paul McCartney , as popular as Michael Jackson was , as big as the president . The entire world knew MJ and embraced him . You cannot say that about Lebron.
@@Chevy-hw6lw I agree, I wasn't a Bulls fan but I still pulled for him to win, if it wasn't against my team.
I really have never done that before, I'm basically pull for the underdog team type guy.
I'd never pull for a team to with their 6th title, if it wasn't my team. But, I did for Jordon.
Choke out Yahoo 😂
OHHHH!!
For some reason I always thought that Larry Bird was the one guy who ultimately got the better of MJ. Then Last Dance documentary reminded me that Bird was the coach of the Pacers team that almost beat the Bulls in the ECF in 1998. 😂
theyre always so on cue w the mic bits
I still can't believe Pat didn't know that much about Air. I'm 29, got my first pair of J's in 1997 (Playoff 12's) and literally every kid I knew in school was a Bulls fan at some point.
Same. I'm 29 too. Grew up in the burbs of chicago. Used to watch a 6 hour MJ documentary every weekend and go play basketball all night. Good times.
Jerry Krause was a villain back then, the kiddies just now learning he sucks.
Reinsdorf got off easy.
Wtf just happened 7:38
😂😂😂 idk
Lmaooo
holy crap lol
I legit got nervous dawg. This dude is crazy
U must be new
Be loud and proud!!!!
INDIANA!!!!!!!
This documentary was so good it made me order a pair of Air Jordans
"Start swimmin cuz"
-Pat shittin on the game McAfee
I wish they showed the time Iverson hit Jordan with the infamous crossover.
Then show how different things were the second time they faced off, with MJ swiping the ball away from AI while doing his infamous crossover move 🤷♀️
We’re do you watch the documentary at
Netflix
The documentary also made me miss old school basketball so damn much. Such wussies in today’s nba
You mean an era where many players worked a second job? An era where hack-a-Shaq was confused as defence? An era where only 3 guys on the court could shoot and only 2 could shoot the 3? What a time to be alive!
Bu toda's player are FAAAAAR more skilled all around... the league/game is much better in many ways
So much steve kerr, why barely any Ron Harper? The guy used to average 23ppg. Was a focal point on a team and settled into a role on title team. His back story would have been good
I don’t know , I mean I am the biggest MJ fan and don’t want to defend the Jerry’s but they did put the team together. The got pippen, Horace , Phil Jackson, Dennis and tony Kukoc together . They definitely deserve some credit , no doubt . However jerry Krause Majorly fu** up to not sign them all 1 more year. MJ was totally right . Everyone would have tried and stuck around for one more try. And that was criminal , and actually unforgivable. You don’t do that to a winning team, to a team of legendary players and coaching staff.
Noti Gang
documentary should have been 1 episode per week.
Oj:Made in America was better IMO. Last Dance was amazing though.
As a diehard fan you might have a point there. I liked them both for very different reasons
Thank you, as a person who loves documentaries as a whole not just sports. OJ: Made in America, is most definitely the best documentary I've ever seen in my life, and If you agree, there's no any reason for me to explain further
Exactly.
Yeah that doc was really well done. Fully engaged.
@@joshuakelley7238 Have you seen Blackfish, also a great doc
the magic saying 45 ain’t 23 is the only team that said something to him and he didn’t beat them
he did next game & next season....
It’s funny how he changed back to 23 the next game 😆. Classic MJ
The best documentary ever is "CHOKE". I bet you it has touched more life's then any documentary
Lebron James direct that?
Mustang 760 😂😂😂😂
Hoop Dreams is the best documentary for me
Hoop Dreams is a classic but The Last Dance exceeded my expectations. It goes to the top of my list of sports documentaries.
Every time I see this show I put In low volume. You guys are loud.
Well you solved the problem already. You have a big brain my friend.
Ken Burns Civil War?
Don't worry- Ken Burns and Sir Attenborough are still the Kings.
Only a frat boy dbag like pat would say this...
@@kinglsey1000 oh I hate what a leftist douchebag he is, but at the time, it was one of the few times our tax money went to something that was watchable on PBS
we need new Kings
Hi Pat
I don’t think pat has watched many documentaries then
Whats Zetos licence plate?
Did he jokingly say controversy wrong? Lmao
I’m going to say it now, it’s a very unpopular opinion and I’m ready for all of the angry yinzers to come at me, Aaron Donald in terms of skill is the greatest defensive tackle of all time. Yes, that means he’s better than Mean Joe Greene, Warren Sapp, and John Randle.
I agree, for the most part.
I was thinking Chernobyl was better, then I remembered it wasn't a documentary🤦♂️
What is Zitos license plate?
Hello there
General kenobi.....
I imagine that this is from a sports point of view. Its not even within the top 20 documentaries in film.
It definitely is from a sports point of view. However I think it’ll stand the test of time. It’s a damn good documentary.
@@hits.productions Oh it will in context. I have no doubt and I am not knocking it at all, its very good. I'm more of saying, I think Pat McAfee's sports opinions actually bring in a diverse crowd including those in film and there are far better docs in the genre to say such a dumbfounding thing for in the moment. Either way, still a good doc.
It was good but it's not even the best sports documentary, scratch that...it's not even the best basketball documentary . That honor goes to 'Hoop Dreams' (1994).
Daaaaa Bulls
Best sports documentary? Try Hoop Dreams .
Mcafee is about to be my last name
Wtf?!
he said it's the greatest doc he's ever seen. not the greatest doc ever. he has probably seen like 3 documentaries.
Shaq, Penny & Horace Grant slighted Jordan & the Bulls, but this documentary didnt want to talk about that.
They could have brought up losing to them, just like they could have brought up sweeping Orlando the following year.
I think Joe Exotic would disagree with that statement 😆
Sorry he’s wrong
Has pat watched the oj doc
Mj=GOAT
The Last Dance is a great SPORTS doc. But it is not as moving and impactfing as Blackfish, 20 Feet from Stardom,, and The Last Waltz (those are from the top of my head.) Hoop Dreams, When we Were Kings, and that OJ Simpson one are still superior sports documentaries IMO.
Blackfish was great and so many sad preventable attacks
Pat is my daddy
Pause 😂😂
The bull haven't been rebuilding since then they were the 1 seed in the east with Derrick Rose what is he saying😂
Yeah but outside of those few good Thibodeau years Chicago was never close to being that good again.. And unfortunately got robbed of a real shot with Rose. But it definitely took them forever to "rebuild" after 98
inst4rmin.x4_onYT you can't say a team that went to the ECF and took LeBron 5 games, and then in 2015 took LeBron 6 games and almost went up 3-1 ”rebuilding” I'm sorry. The Kings have been rebuilding since 01’ not the Bulls.
why did Pat say the first sentence in this video like he’s British?
Hi
Please, not even close. Just another M J highlight reel. You’d think he never missed a shot.
No you wouldn't think that if you actually watched it. And its extremely naive to think that a doc with one of the greatest icons of sports and popular culture won't be a highlight real on some level.
bolder2009 Yeah I get that, but the only lowlights were of his opponents. And yes I saw all 10 episodes of this one sided love fest.
sup guys
Thatd great but to watch it on youtube ESPN wants 49.95/month... pass. Failing company flailing
Get a vpn, watch on Netflix
I wouldn't go that far..
I think it flips around too much and not entirely focused
But each thing they flip too had a meaning to what happened in the future
Brian Fontana to each is own. However the flips, in my opinion, were very much needed.
Free Solo > The Last Dance
You mean autobiography?
bad confusing timeline
Not even close. It was good, not even very good.
No way!!! Tiger King is the best documentary of all time! All-time!
Are you sure
It was and still unfair to Krause. Krause built the Bulls dynasty but almost no one gave him credit for it. Krause did not destroy the dynasty and if anyone did so then it was Phil Jackson. Jackson bullied Krause by align himself with Jordan and Pippen and was aggressively trying to persuade Reinsdorf to fire Krause so Jackson can take over as GM-coach. Since Reinsdorf remained loyal to Krause which ended Jackson's tenure in Chicago thus resulted the end of the dynasty. So after witnessing the clusterfuck in NYC, does any of you believe that Jackson should ever involve as executives ever?
Nah Hoop Dreams and Soul in the Hole both are better
MJ is the GOAT
Wait till the Black Mamba documentary comes together...that will be the greatest sports documentary ever!!!
🤣 best ever!? Nah boss.
The bulls are still rebuilding lol should of stayed with the winning formula
Except from 09 to about 14
So now MJ is the greatest basketball player ANNNNNNND the best docuseries maker ?!?!?!?!?
MJ was already the goat in basketball that ain’t new.
Hes been the goat for 3 decades wth
Don't be jealous!!!
Undertaker The Last Ride>The Last Dance
I wouldn't say "the best", but certainly one of the best. Top 5 at least!
Best documentary ever? Not a chance. It didn't need to be ten hours, my goodness.
Should have been longer still a lot of things they didn’t go into details.
Quarters against the wall? Yes MJ is competitive, we get it. Not much entertainment value there.
Nope. Bird and Magic, Courtship of Rivals best SPORTS documentary.
The Last Dance is BY FAR the best SPORTS documntary ever, but it is still many levels below Band of Brothers if you want to say best Documentary ever.
I agree that there's better documentaries out there. But Band of Brothers is not a documentary. Its a miniseries. Besides, The Pacific is far superior to BoB.
Band of brothers isnt a documentary
The show was pretty much just a hit piece on Krause, really sad to attack someone like that after his dead and can't defend himself.
1 minute ago wowowowowow
not gona lie, i thought it was so over-hyped!!
and thats not even mentioning the control Jordan had over the production, he could make the narrative whatever he wanted... thats not what a documentary is supposed to be,
That’s because he hasn’t seen “The Act of Killing” 😉😂
It isn’t a documentary when MJ’s production company was responsible for it!
Scottie’s burner account 😢😅
Planet Earth is far superior and a greater accomplishment.
Pat got some money from Jordan last night I see
First off best documentary in the Ebola lockdown is hands down tiger king second but for sports documentary I’ll give it a tie for hbo’s 7 days in hell and the last dance
The best documentary ever??? Don't think so!!! Ken Burns documentaries are the best ever!!!!
Sure the documentary was good because they showed what the public wanted to see smh
