  • Just a little video I made with Chris Rea's "Steel River" in the background. Hope all goes well for the future of the steel works and it can remain open for more years to come, will be a sad day if it closes and 3,000 jobs directly lost, 10,000 directly and indirectly.

The loss of any plant site is tragic. I've watched it happen in the USA, as well. It's not just the steel workers who lose their jobs, it's also the secretaries, the supervisors, the janitors, and the local town businesses...everyone. Very sad.

Well done mate. Closing the furnace will be a disaster, another nail in the coffin of what's left of British industry.I agree with eveything ergotot45 has written above.

@CLASSICALJAJ This is the free market in practice. Maggie loves it, Tony loves it, anyone should love it they say.

Excellent Video. Pitty Mr Brown wont use TAX PAYERS MONEY to bail out the steel industry rather than our Cowboy Banks, don't think anyone would miss some of the Banks the way we'll miss Corus here in Redcar. I've always voted Labour, not this year!!!!!!

I used to work part time transporting steel from there for an agengy, when times were hard. Working maybe 1 day a week and the rest of the week claiming benefits. I did notice some of the steel workers were quite arrogant, a few unsavoury, though somehow light hearted comments aimed at my situation. I have a brilliant, easy permanent job now driving HGV's. Making a killing! Make sure you dress well for the dole office WANKERS!

@P1mpMyBr1de That's a bit unfair, I know lots of people that work for Corus and they are sound, maybe it's just you.

@P1mpMyBr1de WHAT slumbs in Teesside, I no it's not the greatest of areas but there are a LOT worse places. AND Teeside is only 15 miles from THE NORTH YORKSHIRE MOORS NATIONAL PARK!
