There’s a lot of assets in Hazy Days, kits for Battery, presets for Massive and 400+ loops - all curated for you! Similarly, Sway has cool sounds, but not enough to sell it as a completely new concept. I do like the familiar layout of Play Series instruments too. I just find I buy some of this content and rarely use it! I presume there are creators that have bought into everything NI releases so any new expansions provide the creativity and inspiration they’re looking for. It kinda makes sense - especially if you’re using a Maschine+ device. But in my case, I have 153 virtual instruments (sum of Logic, Komplete 14, Spitfire Audio, Arturia V, Korg Collection and dozens of 1 offs from u-he, Soundpaint, Vital, XT Surge and on-and-on). So I’m not as hooked in to NI and Maschine expansions - but often think it would be easier than learning all these different VSTi’s 🥵
I agree… I like to have these videos as a resource, especially when people get komplete and find a bunch of new instruments… but the play series ones are getting saturated. I liked these patches more than some recent libraries for sure, but at some point you have to stop and realize you have enough!!
@@MusicMemor I think the hardware is sophisticated enough.but the Software is lacking so many features that other standalone devices have. The Maschine+ has so much potential…
Nice video, Jef! I stumbled up on it just as I was looking to upgrade to Komplete 14 Collectors Edition (currently on K13 Ultimate), in another tab. So, I take it these two are fresh out of the NI oven and probably not included in said K14 take-all-my-money edition? Would have been great to just make it easy and pop those into the bundle! On a related note, and perhaps you've covered this in the past but... When you end up with so many expansion packs, how do you know where to browse for them specifically? If I end up getting Hazy Days, while I don't own a Machine but obviously have Battery et al....how do I just get those sounds or even the loops? I know I have a bunch of expansion packs from my current K13 but to be honest I have no idea where they are or what genre or sound each one focuses on! lol.. I'd have to go back to the NI site and look for it, read the description, see which instruments they are compatible with, etc. Is there not an easy, more intuitive way? Thanks for any tips!
Yeah they came out after the sale, and they always make you wait for the next version to get the new ones! But there’s so much already… I get to know each expansion well when I make my vids, then when I have a thought I know which one to explore for the right genre. One tip is to sort them by genre on the actual expansions website! Sometime you find ones you forgot about! Here’s a vid on using battery with expansions, could be easier or more elegant, but you just put the title in the search field and you’re good to go! ruclips.net/video/emV1jB8Mu54/видео.html
I completely agree and I've been saying this for a long time because they think people who use beat pads or anything that resembles machine are into hip hop and finger drumming. They did recently come out with a house expansion which is great but 90% of what they do is hip hop oriented. In my opinion you're limited as machine is in the software to create hip hop is probably perfect for anything more advanced or more sophisticated, in my opinion hip hop is pretty simple to make minus the vocals, and it becomes more difficult to integrate other genres.
I’ve enjoyed all of my favorite content YT creators about this NI expansion pack but this was by far the most enjoyable because you actually play!!!
Jeff, just such a great talent I can’t get that theme out of my head. Damn.
Man thanks Frank!!
Jeff, dude....this is one of the coldest melody tracks you've made bro! Wrap it up in a bow and sell it man!
Whoa, love that piano melody you laid down at 2:00! 🔥
Thanks Ben!
When the bass came i got Tyler The Creator vibes 🔥
You must believe in spring, Jef!
Nailed it!
The way you brought that percussion loop into tempo is really clever, thanks for that.
Loved your vocal mangling!! - And I just hope, NI doesn’t get too lazy or crazy these days of summer!
Ha! That same Nat King Cole album is a staple around these parts all summer!

Nice beat Jef, and nice plug in!
Appreciate it Alex!
Man they pump these expansions out like it's candy
Yup seems like their main focus now
Definitely time for some maschine software love!!
Thanks Jeff, Appreciate You & Your Talent and Your Knowledge!
Thanks Pasha!
As always, dope!
Love the sound of Lo-fi music! Great video! 🔥
Awesome! Thanks for your videos! ❤
Sounds great. Would be great to know what notes you played in the first piano riff. I’m trying to learn how to play
NICE lil tweak on that second vocal snippet
Sounds terrific
NI only drop expansions, they don’t do anything to update Maschine or Maschine+
Several companies lacking recently. Look at Novation these days. They completely fell off😂
They really need to make Maschine more user friendly. SMDH.
That is so disappointing!
I'm praying we get some new hardware soon to go along with these great expansions 🙏

Cool demo, as ever man. PS Is that Bill Evans on the Tee?
Indeed! Well done Neil!
Bill Evans
Is it Bill Evans?
Sometimes your Maschine screens get blown out or overexposed on camera. You should Bring maschine brightness down in so we can see them better
It just depends on the expansion... and it's usually just in the browser (white text on right background on a few of the expansions).
Nice, dig it 😎

Sounds like some Kaytranada type stuff. I dig the Lo Fi vibe I'm hearing though
Of course is you on the T-shirt…This or somebody forgot the iconic waves in the hairs of Dave Brubeck 😏
Nope, but Brubeck is sort of close...
@@jefgibbons you already said it for Bill Evans…
Got it: he’s Brubeck with the hairs of Evans. Booom…perfect mixup 😂
@@lostinfoundation Sorry, was replying via an email notification, I never get the context of these kinds of replies!
Is that you on the shirt? Jef Gibbons March dropping soon???
Nah, if it was me there would a cigar obviously!!
Hi Jeff, I can't seem to get your affiliate links to work.
Don’t worry about it Charles, thanks for trying! Just head right there and pick them up if you’re going to get them!
I mean, that T-shirt image is *you*, right?!
Ha, nope! But I have spent untold hours practicing to be like him...
Looks like Glen Miller Jeff?
Close!! Maybe 2 decades early…
benny goodman?
My foolish heart...
Indeed!
I don’t know if you played piano like Bill Evans, but one thing is sure: you’re the best with Maschine !
Well done! And I appreciate it Benoit!
There are so many other styles, Synthwave, Chill out, Cinematic, etc. but nothing, everything is hip hop in NI. 😞
Every genre of music has been given a hip-hop overhaul - even country. That's just the way it is...
I'd love to see some cinematic stuff!!
@@jefgibbons And Latin! I can't believe they've never done one.
@@jefgibbons Me too Jef. There are many kontakt libraries with cinematic styles, but no maschine expansions.
