Why exactly does it take that long to get an updated Nexrad or Ads-b radar image? I know they scan the sky at 14 different tilt angles, but airplanes using the Honeywell RDR-4000 scan even more at 17 different angles but give an immediate image of the situation ahead. Is it just outdated technology the national weather service uses or is it dependent on the frequency images are being transmitted?
