I remember the 250R when brand new back in the day. I believe it would do close to 70 mph. It was fast and I enjoyed every second, just hearing the engine rattle sound of the two stroke fire up was exciting! Cool vid.
@@DirtBikeBubba 85 and 86 250r were water cooled. So probably not. Might from an 84. Have to measure it to see. Should still be able to get the odyssey piston.
I have wanted one of these since I was a kid. I’m glad you found a good one. My dad and I used to race 250 quad racers at Loretta Lynn’s in TN. He would never let me have one of these
Mr. Brian's Amazing World I wish brother! I lost my dad 6 months ago. Have so many memories from us riding together. I did find the dirt wheels magazine with his name in it from finishing 2nd. @@patrickbrozis7440 O yeah it does if you can get the back end to hook up. Tires are shot which I love, makes sliding fun and doesn't tear up the grass track in the process. The 350x will lift too if you stab it. The extra weight of it keeps the back hooked up more. Now to get the hang of the wheelies! Not as easy as on the old Yami.
Hey, a little trick for you, when going around a right hand corner, roll your hand over and use your fingers on the thumb throttle. Makes you fast around right hand corners. Braaaaaaaaaap.
I've been commenting on Hondas social media accounts pushing to bring them back. I even called honda and asked what it would take to bring them back into production. Never gave me a straight answer, but did say he would put in a request to make one. I just bought an 84 and love it. I always thought about what could of been had they come back into production when the ban lifted in 97/98ish.
He said it needs breaks😂😂😂😂, 81Euro Elsenor bored 60 over oops I know front break only. And compression😂. The bike was a rocket. Still got it but it's in pieces😢. Can't let the old girl go❤.
It was a long time coming getting this one. I waited years for that feeling. I get excited every time I fire it up now. Then there is the 2 stroke smell of quality oil burning. Ahhh
I ran my leg over with my Kawaski tecate on a whoops trail and my friend drove over the wreckage on a 250R, with flat track slicks on it. I still have the scars. Good times. Good times.
I don't know. Seems right on when you hit the throttle. Have to wait to run through all the gas in it. Not sure how old it is, or what the mixed it at. But once she is warmed up she rips.
Man that’s a nice trike! I got a first gen 250r. Those things rip. They lift up the front wheel so easily. But one thing to remember. You can’t leave 2 strokes to idle. To warm em up I just ride them around for about 7 min. Congrats on the new trike!
Thanks. Super fun to ride. Can't wait for spring so I can really ride this thing. Nothing like seeing people start up a cold machine and then instantly running full throttle. Then they wonder why they always need a new top end.
@@330grubbler A 2 stroke can’t idle without oil getting gummed up in the valves, reeds, exhaust, etc. I’ve had it happen to me. It was properly jetted. It doesn’t matter what her size you have, 2 stroke oil is going to clog up your bike if you let it idle. To avoid this problem, just give the throttle a little blip every few seconds when it’s warming up.
Agree 100% it started to work after pumping a bunch of times. Has been ok since. Crashed my dirt bike pretty good doing a wheelie with no back brakes. Guy on the bike in front of me slowed down for no reason and had to dump the bike to avoid him.
It's weird to hear one with stock exhaust on it. I would like to ride one like that one day to compare it to mine. I rode it for years with a stock pipe, but never a stock muffler. I want to see how Honda intended for them to run just out of curiosity.
Man nothing rides like it. So light it floats over the ground where all the others are heavy and firmly planted. Lights the tires instantly for super predictable drifts. Hope you get the chance one day.
I've been looking for one for years that was at a price I would pay. I feel like I got the last one before the prices skyrocketed. I hardly get rid of anything so she'll get passed down to the kids one day. It started with my first car a VW bug. Everyone regretted selling theirs so I kept mine.
That 250x is quick!!!! Looks soo fun !!!!

87 mph clocked by truck and car .
