We as country, is blessed to have this young lady leading the FTC. Meta and Google types of companies, do not give a rats ass about people. They are all about money.
Just a dei hire

Lina is a very intelligent and dedicated public servant whom we are grateful to have serve our country.
Good intentions Good results.
She's more ideology than understanding and competence.
@@Leto2ndAtreides When is the last time you took on & won against powerful mega-corporations that harm the interests of the people?
@amatuer2 💯
She's the perfect person for this job. Crushing it and taking zero BS along the way.
A true American hero give Secratary Khan her flowers.
Keep up the good work Lina I'm glad you're on my side
@@markhayes1605 exactly 💯
She is like the batman of silicon valley.
she's the terror of big tech but also the savior of startups
im here for Lina khan
We need more of Lina Khan's in this world. She is doing a fabulous job. Thank you so much.
She's the best!
I agree with JD, Lina is smart.
Kamala needs to commit to keeping her as the FTC chair. Shes by far the star of the whole current administration.
That is, they are telling her to remove her if Kamala wins this one.
One of the best leaders in our country.
Lina Khan is a Goddess!!
Khan for president 🇺🇸
Lets go Lina FIGHT. You go girl!
If Ms Khan is scaring or angering mega corporations you know she is doing something right.
She’s been a very good lead and hopefully can continue over into the Harris administration
As I was waiting to watch this very video an ad appeared trying to sell me an AI voice changer. It's pitch: *in old guys voice* "You can make your voice sound like an old man." *in teenage girl's voice* "Or a little teenage girl!" Now I work in tech, and I get ads for stupid tools I don't need all the time, but this crosses a line. In addition to the consumer and anti-trust issues AI is bringing to the table, we MUST talk about the ethical concerns of pushing technology to mimic humanity. This is gross and very offputting.
As an aspiring comic artist, I second this. Generative AI can be a useful tool, but letting it be a toy for the masses and a needless cost-cutting tool for megacorporations are probably the absolute worst environments to place it in. It has no business being as abusable as it is.
Love lina khan
I do respect Lina Khan though, she does good work.
Lina is great
Love this woman
What a critical role!
Lina is freaking awesome. So nice to see such an intelligent person at the helm. Really hope Harris keeps her on after she wins.
Lina Kahn is amazing 👏 🤩
These are the people we hire under the Biden administration. GO LINA! GO LINA!!! 👍
Surveillance pricing already exists, notably by airlines and reservation sites.
How about tackle the wave of companies "selling" digital goods just to take it from customers accounts by changing their TOS as if it could top laws?
How about that?

The interviewer seemed to want to intimidate Lina Khan by making the every time Ms Khan finished her reply.
More regulation - Quicker. NOW!
You can't regulate what you have no ability to understand. Trying to regulate too early just slows things down and limits possibilities.
If the US was left behind in AI, there would be no coming back from that.
Keep Lina Khan!
Zuckerberg needs to stop dressing up like a rapper.
😂😂 dude dressed up like Jack Harlow!
3:40 Not obvious that person-specific pricing is bad if free market competition exists.
you don’t see everything merging towards monopolies? amazon? uber? ticketmaster? etc.
Except that competition DOESN'T exist; the mergers and monopolies saw to that. And even if they DO exist, they will simply copy each other. That's the point.
The AI regulations, it is beginning and process now, Absolutely Complicated, it is clear complete....
Please, please dispense with the distracting corporate speak and just use simple contextual language.
AI is a scam. CrowdStrike is a threat - grossly negligent. Let's prosecute both appropriately please!
*AI is a scam*
Literally makes no sense because of how wide a range of technologies fall under the umbrella of "AI," and (for better or worse) have for decades now. Not to mention that you conflate "some scam like uses of AI are a scam," with the conclusion of "all AI is a scam," which IMO needs evidence.
AI is a technology. Prosecuting AI is like prosecuting medicine. What it needs is regulation and quick futuristic thinking from lawmakers to make sure they can handle improper usage of AI.
CrowdStrike is a company that should be held responsible for its failures.
@@ProfessionalBirdWatcher AI is not a scam. AI saves lives. It helped develop the COVID vaccine. It is being used by many different use-cases. You probably think Generative AI chatbots as AI but all AI is not that.
AI and even Generative AI is a scissor or a knife or a car. You can usually do good things with them but you can do bad things with them. But, operating a car needs regulation. A knife or scissor is not allowed in carry on luggage. So you need regulation on these things. But, it is also not easy to regulate them. Not because of any Big Tech reason, it is not easy to identify what to regulate. Europe has created a set of AI regulations but that can destroy AI innovation so much that other countries like China will then use it how they want. They won’t stick to any regulation. You need to start the process. You need to have a back and forth. You need to consider practitioners (we need AI for our education and jobs) and not just BigTech (don’t regulate) or governance (stop AI development).
The problem with the scammy part of AI was some people saying that AI will replace a significant part of jobs. That was untrue. It can make some part of jobs easier and change roles of some jobs and in future, one may need less paralegals or executive assistants than before, but you would need more AI governance experts and more AI security to prevent things like CrowdStrike. And more AI privacy and chip design people so that more AI can be done in device (in your phone or laptop) instead of sending your data to server of a big corporation.
These people who think of AI as a solution to all your problems did this with blockchain or even with earlier AI boom a decade ago.
Mark Zuckeberg answered the question with a word salad.
Lina Khan - and everyone in the administration determined to break up monopolies - should be staying right the hell on the job.
In fact, the only complaint I have against her is that she hasn't yet busted up the monopolies called the Democratic Party and Republican Party to date. So that we NEVER again have to choose between two shitty products at the high cost of the country's future.
If the parties do as good of a job as she is doing we wouldn’t have to. I don’t think that’s on her.
@@jimenezccindy one party will inevitably do the worst job possible as long as the other party is expected to do just a bit worse. The monopolies that existed in business apply the same tactics to choke the life out of our politics.
@@szahmad2416 yes, I agree but it’s not within her scope to break them up. She’s doing her job as FTC chair
@@szahmad2416 also I think the job she’s doing may directly weaken the monopolies and hopefully by default the grasp they have on the government. Ultimately helping gubernatorial sytems. I don’t see this happening in the short term tho. 🥲
Watch out for Harris
Love your work Lina, however I'd recommend to move away from the Ivy League linguistics.
Vector, inflection point.. there were others. Tell the same story, but do it simple so that the message will resonate with the common person.
I love Lina Khan...but it shouldn't be her job to have to defend herself going after monopolies the way she does. It's like saying the cop who's arresting out-and-open human traffickers has to justify himself...and needs effective and simple messaging to do so.
I don't want Lina to become more of a politician or PR person rather than stick to the great work that she's doing...unfortunately, with these attacks from big business lobbies, she's forced to do more and more of that.
@@Andrew-is3ld Because she's speaking to Bloomberg. Obviously if she was speaking to a general audience she'd phrase things differently.

Lina is smart no doubt, but I would argue her communication skills could use some touching up. She answers questions like a literal robot.
She seemed to get more natural towards the end. Which, just unfortnutely leads me to believe she's really got her hands tied, with how she answered the first proposed questions.

If restaurants hiked prices for individuals and were found out, the backlash would be monstrous... There's no point in these pointless fears. Most of the time, openness will make the system run more efficiently.
Plus, as personal AI agents come along, the agents will automatically look at more than just one option.
It's this kind of shallow thinking that makes this person ill suited to being in a position where she should have power over regulating things.
It's also this kind of person that's probably behind so much of Tech and big business no longer being as supportive of liberal causes... Because no one supports people who treat them like enemies.

@@OkaydenMusic For one person, or even a group, to decide how companies all over the world need the tweak their operations is absolutely a wild concept.
This centralize planning and regulation invariably has an effect opposite to the intention.
What we need is less regulation to enable competition, not more random rules that tell specific companies how to run a specific part of their business from someone who has never had to make a business decision in their life - even if she was an all knowing oracle or god himself, this would be a terrible way to run a society
