@@CarsandCameras hey some advice get some grip tape and put on the brake plates because I have that same kart and if the plates are shiny and smooth and you hit the brakes you will go faster
1. _North_ Wilkesboro Speedway 2. Its actually off US-421, if you ever have to go to Boone, NC, you will pass right by it and its a behemoth of a track just hanging over the side of the highway when you come under the Race track Rd. bridge
My first go-cart was an electric Dale Sr nascar, then I got a real 5hp cart, so y'all just brought back some good memories. Go Fast and Take Chances!!!
Oh man! I had a DuPont #24 nascart as a kid. In junior high I put an 8hp (I think?) on it and got in trouble for burning off the tires. Dad wouldn’t buy me spares. Got older, had to move and it got thrown away!!! I’m kicking myself for that one.
I think the smartest idea for that would be to take the engine off the mower because that combo is a death trap, and then mount it on the born to race naskart. No more death trap mower and now a death trap naskart, win win.
With a crack like that, it's good to drill a small hole at the end of the crack to eliminate the stress riser. Great score guys. I love seeing Ike with his brother. Easy to see that they're still close as adults.
"Jason was that you on the phone?" I love how they're so committed to the illusion that they invented a new person using the Back to the Future 2 visual fx skills they learned while building the Delorean kart.
A little trick I've learned along the way if you want to change the motor out without messing up the frame you can take another motor mount with longer bolts welded to the bottom of the motor mount lines up with the holes of the original motor mount and you can bolt that to it and there you go original fine not touched and in perfect condition
Nas Carlo!!!!! Looks like a Monte body....Gotta name it Nas Carlo guys!! Excellent find. What a throw back. Happy you guys were able to save it. Cheers my Friends! Zip~
I was just worried you guys got enamored with the body. Kudos for actually checking it out first! Fiberglass is easy. Make the weaves different every layer, and force out the excess resin before it cures.
Don't worry, you did the fiberglass repair correctly. On something really thin like this V-grooving is not really necessary, especially since there was so much area covered on the back side. V-grove works best on thick 'glass in areas where it has to be even, for example on the outside of a boat hull. Even then a large patch on the back side is still a good idea. As a side note, the mat (like that Ike used) is best for contours since it can follow a shape really well. Fiberglass fabric is best for flat areas since it does not like sharp bends (especially if the surface curves in two directions), but it is stronger.
Guys that's so awesome can't wait for the cool videos to come. That's crazy you found and one that fast, the NASCAR body is just a little bigger that the truck make a it look like a super truck
I was wondering about where it came from. Oh an they started back racing late models an super late models. It was from around 2009 to 2012 dont quote me on the years. It wasn't very long they raced. Dont remember why they stopped having races. Nascar did go and watch those races, to see if they wanted to bring the track back to racing the Xfinity Monster cup and so on series!
When I was about 12 yrs. old (1974 ish), the AMC dealership had a cart in the showroom with a body on it . . . . a Gremlin body! Man I wanted that thing! lol
I had one of these karts when I was younger. It had a mountain dew body on it. I believe the frame had a tag on it that said BlueBird on it. I'm not 100%sure but I think they made schoolbusses as well.
I HAVE THAT EXACT GOKART!!! I bought it at an auction And it has a beer miller body. I just have a couple mods to it bigger tires on it and a honda engine and a different steering wheel and seat
This thing is absolutely beautiful, and very rare...that being said, PLEASE HOTROD IT!!! Hot engine, live axle, and PLEASE, FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS HOLY, RACING WHEELS AND SLICKS!!!!!
Hey guys, just a suggestion: Put some cameras in the garage and maybe 2 outside the garage, and when you go to do something tedious or annoying for us to watch on the main camera, switch to the other cameras and do like a timelapse kinda thing, with some good music over top of it. I feel like it would add more to your videos and give it a fuller feel because the audience has seen everything that went into the process. love you guys, keep up the hustle as you guys are gonna go places!
They used to sell these believe it or not in the Sears catalog back in the day! And I think Kmart had a raffle for these at one time. I remember hinting at my parents that I wanted one so bad for Christmas they did the parent and got me one of my favorite possessions the cheapo kind everybody had with the five horse Briggs and no brakes! I loved it on a dirt road you just whipped it around if you needed to stop!
I remember in a dream where i was racing a Go-Kart Nascar truck with my decals and sponsors, and i was making a pit stop. It was the most exciting thing that has happened
I'm not one to comment and tell people what to do, but a really good idea is to drill a hole at the end of the crack to keep it from spreading any further. Other than that, that thing is pretty awesome.
I had a Richard Petty STP car just like that as a kid! And I still have my Pennzoil formula 1 go cart hanging upside down on my shop ceiling. Both 3 1/2 hp Briggs. Ah the 80's
We have to have a Back To Wilkesboro show! Contact Speedway Motorsports and ask if you could film a episode where you take your go kart back to the Grand Old Track where Isaac's Granpappy won the cart in 1983 and gave it to Isaac. I'm sure they don't keep records about who really won a go kart in 83. You guys might get to visit the track and do some hot laps!
I havent seen it done yet by yall, and I'm sure it's not that reliable... but I have a speedo for my gas-bike, and they're pretty simple.. having one on all of your machines would be a cool/functional touch.
Wow, I’m really jealous of this. I’ve been watching ur vids for a couple of years now, and have considered doing a cool go kart build. My fist car was and still is a Monte Carlo SS and I really want this thing. So cool, keep up the good vids guys
@@SINIS0RSA They were raced at the DB Speedway. I don't know why he has all of them or what he even plans to do with them. He's wealthy so they'll probably just sit there collecting dust...
My twin brother and I had that Pepsi car and a Hardeezs car and we wore out a dirt oval out in the back yard in about to tanks of gas in those things.Very cool!!
I think they were a whole series of Kart's. I had the 1988 Indy 500 pace car. Same frame and 3.5hp Techumseh engine but a convertible Corvette body. Much faster with the body off. Sadly it eventually made it to the dump after taking a beating. Never really ran it with the body on it
I love this thing! Who wants to get some and start a racing series?
Sounds like fun to me.
Count me in!!!
CarsandCameras MOTO migs got one
Can it be an open series for karts with fiberglass bodies of all types? Building one with a 70s Dodge Van body on it this winter.
id love to race you guys. wonder if i can find a fiberglass for my kenbar streaker. game on!
That would be cool if you could get permission to bring it back to Wilkesboro Speedway and race it around the track with some of your other carts :)
Rockingham also reopened recently, I'm sure they'd love to get some advertising.
Yeah man we were talking about doing that! It'd be sweet!
Wow best idea ever bring back some LIFE TO WILKESBORO!

You guys should paint the truck body like dale' s intimidator truck so you Can have 2 NASCAR go carts.
thats what I thought, a NASKart and NASTruck race
I think that'd be the plan. Do it for dale
Hell yeah brother, gotta do it for Dale!
Wow these comments are just absolutely brilliant!
Like what cleetus McFarland has his Dale race truck?
I love that it is a Darrell Waltrips replica car. My dad use to be a gas man for him back in the day. Cool find!
Ike is the only one that can be both behind the camera and in front working on stuff at the same time! #Twins!
the history behind the kart makes it one of the coolest ones you guys have
Please put some wide Hoosiers on it it would look great
Goodyears boy, make it right
Some wide good years !
They don’t have Goodyear go kart tires but they already have some Hoosiers that would look awesome lol
The word you’re looking for is Thicc
If they did that it would totally defeat the purpose of having a vintage race cart.
i see a reunion with the track in the future? little polish on that paint it should shine..that body is omg...love it..
Great new project! What Isaac said about repairing the crack in fiberglass is called a scarf joint. And he's right.
Glad to see that you guys always wear safety glasses, you are setting a great example for the younger people who watch your vids
Wow, they do look so similar, and sound so much alike.
Darrell Waltrip and a Monte Carlo body. That screams 80’s NASCAR. Sweet!

Nice score! Leave it alone, it survived this long, no need to modify it... clean and tune, that's all that's needed
We've got 3 go karts like this, 2 old 80s nascar Camaros and a Corvette pace car
I think the smartest idea for that would be to take the engine off the mower because that combo is a death trap, and then mount it on the born to race naskart. No more death trap mower and now a death trap naskart, win win.
You actually got one! No way! I have one too! I wanted for so long to see you get one with a shell! AWESOME!!
I really don't get why people dislike these videos, its just good old fun with the smallest fastest things around
Got 1.08 million that do. Lol
Put a bigger motor on it and make that a live axle and then it would be some awesome fun. Great vid guys!
