    In this video, I will demonstrate:
    How to choose the right dash kit
    How to setup the dash kit with a Kenwood ddx419 double din touchscreen and factory navigation
    How to assemble the wiring harness with the iSimple Stereo Converter
    How to ground the wiring harness underneath the glove box
    Tips & Tricks
    How to use the USB as your iPod
    How to change the Bluetooth from front speakers to all speakers
    Any questions or recommendations, feel free to leave a comment!
    Install at your own risk! If you are unfamiliar with wiring, ask a professional for help. I am not responsible for any injuries that may occur.

    JDM Kits can be found for $300 on eBay

  • @Dannosuke25
    @Dannosuke25 7 лет назад +16

    Based on your JDM kit it looks like your car is an 03 or 04 . If that is the case you only need a standard Nissan Wiring harness. You do not need the extra iSimple harness. Save the money and just use the standard harness. I used to be a Best Buy Installer, I've done hundreds of these cars and I also own one. I know what I'm talking about.

    • @DjDelsMusic
      @DjDelsMusic  7 лет назад +1

      Awesome. Thanks for the feedback. Plus, there is limited space behind the dash to easily position the iSimple. Good to know it is not required for the install.

    • @400Redsport
      @400Redsport 7 лет назад +4

      Mark Reidel Actually, he's wrong. If you have the Bose system you need the extra harness. I've done both my G's, one an 03 and one 04. Both needed the additional harness.

    • @Dannosuke25
      @Dannosuke25 7 лет назад

      I've done many of these cars and never once have I ever had to use the premium harness. I actually own one myself with a bose system I used the standard harness. So to say flat out that I am wrong is messed up. I used to do this for a living did you ever stop to that maybe I know something you don't.

    • @400Redsport
      @400Redsport 7 лет назад +1

      Dannosuke25 Yes, but to say that YOU know something that literally everyone else doesn't would be a bit ridiculous. The normal speakers work without the harness but the subwoofer does not work as a sub anymore. It will only work as a normal speaker, so yes you need the harness if you want to keep the functionality. Just like you need another harness to keep the functionality of the steering wheel controls.

    • @Dannosuke25
      @Dannosuke25 7 лет назад

      Well yeah the steering wheel controls do need an extra piece, but that is always the case and goes without saying. But as far as the subs they work just fine with the regular harness. My car is proof of that.

      Hi there,
      You would also have to purchase the dvd rom box that is embedded above the glove box for the GPS to work. (Along with the gps dvd disc. On top of that, the discs are outdated. You are better off buying a separate gps device or using your phone gps. Let me know if have any other questions.

  • @iammatty777169

    I have found that if you use a #3 Phillips tip, set up a towel on the bench, First, tighten the screws hard (I know that it's counterintuitive) then loosen them. Otherwise they will strip,snap then you have to drill them flush. Note: using a hammer on the screwdriver while removing helps as well.
    Did you have to wire a relay so the DVDs can be watched in motion,for the back seat passenger 🤔🤓👍🏼

    • @DjDelsMusic
      @DjDelsMusic  8 лет назад

      +SONOFOVERBROOK #1 yeah, those screws are a PITA since they're so fragile. Appreciate the tip! For watching DVD's, you just need to wire the parking brake wire coming from the radio to a good ground on the car. No relay is required. However, this trick typically works on older head units. My Kenwood is like a 2011 or 2012 model. I know the 2015 pioneer and kenwood models have a safety built in so, you'll have to wire it to a relay and "trick" the unit to think it is in park.

      @iammatty777169 8 лет назад

    How does the finish (color, feel) on your JDM kit compare to the stock? The reason why I ask is because I just got a brand new JDM kit for my 2004 g35 and I was surprised to see that it had a very rough finish. It almost feels like it has a coat of primer and it appears to have no clear coat or what ever the OEM puts on it to make it smooth. The controls do seem to be exactly like the stock so no issues there. Also what color is you dash kit? I order the willow and its darker than my stock.

    • @DjDelsMusic
      @DjDelsMusic  8 лет назад

      +Saint Rogue It feels smooth to me but not at great as a finish compared to the stock one? haha i know what you mean tho. The oem definitely has more clear coats & overall better quality as far as finish. I bought mine from ebay and it stated it was "Black". Its hard to tell in the video but it looks like a charcoal. the buttons are way blacker than the dash kit. i just looked online and cant even find the same jdm dash that i bought. So, yours might be a different manufacture.

    • @DjDelsMusic
      @DjDelsMusic  8 лет назад +1

      +TheZane03 From my understanding, the isimple is needed for compatibility with the factory Infiniti amp. You're also able to adjust the gain levels individually for each of the speakers on the isimple. I'm not sure if you actually need it (If anyone can comment on this). I guess try to connect it without the isimple first and if its giving you issues then go ahead and get the simple. It costs about $50 new.

    '03 G35 Coupe with Bose (I think). I got a Scosche NN032 Stereo Connector from walmart, should this work? I've wired it up but the head unit still won't turn on. The head unit isn't new, it was one of my old friends, so could it be something with the head unit? Is there a way to check if my head unit is bad?

    • @DjDelsMusic
      @DjDelsMusic  8 лет назад +1

      +xPad1x yo, I checked out the NN032 stereo connector from walmart and the if i'm reading the right one, it doesn't list that it is compatible with G35. As with the head unit, you can hook it up to like a car battery jumper pack or bring it to like best buy (or an audio shop) and see if they can plug it in. Given it works, maybe purchase a new wiring harness that is compatible with G35. keep me posted.

    • @xPad1x
      @xPad1x 8 лет назад +1

      +Mark Reidel Turns out I just needed to attach a ground wire from all of the ground wires in the harness to a piece of metal in the dash! As soon as I touched the ground wire to a ground point, the head unit came alive! Turns out this NN032 from walmart actually does work, you just need to actually ground it (something I've never had to do before with other car radios)! Also I have the Bose system, so it's cool to know it works with that as well!

      Ok hadn't realized you had replied thanks! So my 03 g35 doesnt have a stock navigation kit, what I'm going to do is just get the screen part of it and bolt it to that steel back panel with the four screws to hold it in. And then reinstall into the dash pocket and then line up the jdm double din kit with the AC units on the sides. I'm going to take apart the stock navi screen unit, remove the screen and put a Samsung tab A 7 inch in its place. I will also be getting a kenwood double din because I like the DVD playability, I want one with cell phone mirroring capability, as well as back up camera compatibility.
      The screws at 1:50 look like they are used to hold the double din unit ie kenwood the navi screen looks like those 4 screws on the upper back panel...
      One more question....can you explain that 2nd ground you did so you can play DVD with the parking brake down....is that ground coming from the parking brake itself?? yeah what i ment was am i able to buy the nav and add it in ?

    • @DjDelsMusic
      @DjDelsMusic  8 лет назад

      Oh shit, that's a good question. I'm sure it's possible but would prob be expensive. The navi has a DVD player wired into the car above the glove box and has 2 plugs wired into the harness. Plus, the map package is another $200. I'd recommend getting a head unit that has navi build in.

      Thank you , I really want to add an aftermarket double din unit on my 04g35, but the wires are really scare me. :(

    • @DjDelsMusic
      @DjDelsMusic  8 лет назад

      It's easier than it looks. RUclips has plenty of tutorials on how to connect wires. If you still do not feel confident enough, ask a friend or bring it to a shop. It's worth the swap.

    Can you send me the link to the kit

    • @DjDelsMusic
      @DjDelsMusic  8 лет назад

      Unfortunately, I can't find any links. The kits pop up on Google from time to time from random distributors. Best bet is to search Ebay. Currently, there are a few used ones for $230-$300.

      Mark Reidel ...go to nissanraceshop.com the original kits costs $350 and they have the different dash colors.

    just got a 2004 g35. this is the first thing im trying to do to it. do you have a specific radio that you favor over the others?

    • @DjDelsMusic
      @DjDelsMusic  8 лет назад

      +Raquibbi Samaun Nah, it is all preference. I chosen the Kenwood because it had all the features that I wanted.

    • @keeb117
      @keeb117 8 лет назад

      oh alright. and i have another question how do u know if the radio you choose will fit in the kit?

    • @DjDelsMusic
      @DjDelsMusic  8 лет назад

      +Raquibbi Samaun just measure the stock head unit and find a replacement that is similar in dimensions. Most double din head units now are basically all the same size. you shouldn't have any problems with that. Also, the dimensions of the kit should be posted. if you can't find the measurements of the kit, let me know and ill measure mine for you.

      connor gavin I don't do installs, sorry about that. I made the video so ppl wouldn't have to spend any money :) It's easier than it looks; just give it a shot. There's other videos on RUclips that show how to remove the CD player. That's why I skipped that part. Feel free to ask me any questions if you do attempt to install it yourself.

      TURO TRAGEDIA on the JDM dash kit, the temp control gauge is a separate unit. So basically the added cost is paying for that. On the stock dash kit, The temp control gauge and CD player are wired together to computer board. Hopefully I'm explaining it well lol

    • @DjDelsMusic
      @DjDelsMusic  8 лет назад

      TURO TRAGEDIA plus no other company reproduces the exact kit so they can charge whatever they want.

      so is it possible to just cut a hole out in the factory dash

    • @DjDelsMusic
      @DjDelsMusic  8 лет назад

      Adrian Rivero no, because on the factory unit, the temp gauge and CD player are mounted to the same huge computer chip that is on the other side of the face plate. In other words, if you were to cut a hole out, you'd be cutting part of the computer chip and therefore, your temp gauge will not work. If anybody wants a visual, I can email you guys a picture of it. Just reply with an email address
