I just saw this video link on Gerald Braden's Facebook page, and this is a very good documentary. I have been a fan of Mr Braden's beautiful compositions for a few years, as well as other modern tonal composers such as Alma Deutscher. I also enjoyed Randi Botnen's performance of Mr Braden's piano sonata on his RUclips channel, as well as her piano pieces in this video, and the choral and orchestral piece here by Magnus Gautestad and Sean Milijasevic. I wish you all the best with your mission of bringing beautiful music to the world!

It is encouraging to read that you found the documentary to be very good. We were so glad that Braden was willing to share the documentary to his network. He is a wonderful composer, that inspires many in our community. I am glad you liked the pieces of Sean and I. We have developed a great team, and I believe in the power of complimenting with each other's strength.
Thank you for your good wishes. I believe fighting for true beauty is one of the most profound good fights there is.

A wonderful documentary! We need more melodic composers in today's often "ugly" and noisy world. I loved Randi Botnen's Songs without Words at the intro. I heard her perform Gerald Braden's beautiful Piano Sonata No 3 on his YT channel, and she plays very well. I also loved the interview with the conductor, and what I heard of the pieces from Magnus Gautestad and Sean Milijasevic.

We are so glad you liked our documentary. Yes, if it was ever a time in history we should be champions for beauty, it is now, It is some much uglification in so many areas of life. It doesn't have to be like that. Yes, Randi's piece in the beginning is excellent, as so much of her music. A great pianist as well.
I am glad you liked the interview and the pieces of Sean and I.
      Kind regards,
      Magnus Gautestad

Bravo Magnus, for this wonderful documentary video, about the importance of beautiful music, and the future of the new music "renaissance." I am also weeping with joy as I see the beautiful sites of my former home city here. I was trained as a classical musician on the Cello and Contrabass as a boy, and later as a classical Guitarist and Pianist, and orchestrator when I was in college for my music degrees. My favorite musical influences have always been mainly from tonal composers, such as Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert, Brahms, Dvorak, Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninoff, and other classical composers, as well as 20th century music from the Beatles, Duke Ellington, Sinatra, Nat King Cole, and many other well known bands and recording artists. I believe in creating music that people will remember, and be able to still "hum" to themselves after they leave the concert hall, and for days after hearing my music. I work hard to try and evoke human emotion with my music, and draw listeners into my melodies and themes. THIS is one of the main reasons the music of our past masters are still performed in concert halls around the world by orchestras and musicians. I am not a fan of atonal and microtonal music, and I know that most orchestras rarely perform these type of pieces, because they will not fill concert hall seats. When someone "criticizes" my music, telling me that my music sounds like it was composed in the 1800's, and that I need to compose in a more "modern" style, I laugh. Why? Because I compose what I "hear" in my head and heart, and that is what any artist should do when they are creating their art. Also, I laugh because these people that criticize my music are not having their music performed, whereas my music is being performed more and more by many orchestras around the world, on the same concert programs with music that was composed by our past masters that I revere so much. I always tell people and former students that are fans of atonal and microtonal music, "A good chicken soup recipe from 1800, is still going to taste as good today to the human palate, as it was when enjoyed by the people that first tasted it." I raise my glass to beauty in music, art, literature, and dance! ... Music, Peace, & Love! 🎼☮❤

What a tremendously uplifting message to read. I think it is full of understanding and wisdom. I salute your attitude and the important work you do. It is important because it is purposeful. An artist is true to the message that is given to the mind instead of being a man-pleaser.
Yes, music that we can remember and hum is a worthy goal, as it helps the music to keep on giving to refresh the soul.
The music I have heard from you is rich and full of life. Thank you for being an example. May many follow your example, Gerald. Randi spoke about you while we were in Vienna and your ties to the city. It would be great to do something together there in the future. We are thinking about developing a yearly 3-day professional summit and music festival in Vienna, over time. Please send me an email if you have some good ideas: contact@composersforbeauty.com
The best music in Vienna is yet to come...
      Best regards,
      Magnus Gautestad

Thank you for this wonderful documentary video about the missing beauty, melody, and soul in so much music today of all genres. I saw the link for this video on maestro Braden's Twitter site, and I know he feels the same, and works hard to create his beautiful music. We classical music lovers in Ohio and many in the US are all very proud of him!

We are so glad you liked it. Yes, it is a big gap in today music. At the same time, that means lots of opportunity for meaningful contributions for those who step up and take a stand against the forces that has led us to this uglification or superficiality. I am very encouraged that a new era is on the rise. We see so much passion around our work that only started about 1/2 year ago. Braden has wonderful music, and I am was very touched by his willingness to share the documentary all around his platforms. This means a lot. He serves as a great example of someone that is on the right track. We respect him a lot, and looking forward to connect more with Mr. Braden. I am sure you are proud of him!

Congratulations and bravo! Many important points were made in this documentary. Harmonia Classica presented a magnificent performance of the new music which brought glory to God. “Sing to him a new song; play skillfully with a loud noise.”

I agree fully. The world can be ugly already and it takes a toll on us. Our access to news and information means horrible events weigh more heavily on us than ever before. Beautiful music can be a salve for this. This is my main goal in all my music too. Trying to evoke an emotional response, rather than intellectual.

Adrien, good to know you agree. Yes, it is so much potential in music thee days that is untapped. Thorugh the world's most powerful artform, we can combat the darkness of ugliness and by that, give way to so much goodness.
Yes, an emotional response should be the priority for sure!
      Thanks for sharing your view.
