      This Echochamber just doesn't exist within the Right Wing Ecosystem, I have seen the same Paranoid Behavior when people within the Left-Wing Echochamber respond when they are presented an alternate world-view. In 21st Century Politics the Victimization effort translates to more Clout and both the camps do it extremely well with their set of Media. For example Caravan and The Wire have specific Reader Base which is largely Left Wing to Far-Left. Meanwhile Sites like OpIndia and Swarajya Cater to a Specific Audience that is Right Wing to Far-Right. Some Media Houses like The Print, allows people with both Worldviews to present their stuff. Now Social Media Algorithms make it necessary to push you in either of the camp because when you are fixated on these camps the content they show you get maximum engagement which increases the user base for these apps.
      But the more you read authentic and authoritative texts regarding issues be it on History, Local Politics or Religion, the less you will be susceptible to Narrative based Journal pieces and more into Academic based Journal pieces, because the latter puts more emphasis on understanding the grievances of both the camps.

      @MrPeaceGuy54 Год назад +6

      @@oooo-ui1mlI think that he provides a distorted image of history (and we all know that distortions are not completely true) due to his emphasis on specific aspects of the past. In a way, this is similar to how some left-wing intellectuals may make it seem as if Islam doesn't have any violent tendencies and the destruction of temples was only because of economic reasons.
      Mr Deepak, in his video on hatred against Brahmins, doesn't mention the fact that the "guilt literature" he is criticising is not teaching people about mere illusions. Discrimination did occur and it continues to occur. Should Muslim students not be taught about the invasions after a particular point of time? This is just not the Indic approach to life. We have to reject ignorance wherever we see it and adopt the good wherever it exists. Similarly, he talks about the partition and the mindset of a certain community, but he fails to explore the role of people like Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan. If you continuously portray some people in a negative way, you are going to end up misleading people, even if you don't intend to do so.
      In a video, I saw Mr Deepak arguing that Mahatma Gandhi needed "professional help" at some point because he was allegedly asking Hindus to simply give up and allow themselves to be slaughtered. I believe that he was referring to the words from 'Prarthana-Pravachan' (Part 1, pp. 29-32). What is surprising that a person who has done enough research to be nearing the completion of a massive trilogy did not care to dive deeper into the actual meaning of the words and the relevant context. I had written the following comment somewhere else in response to this charge, and I think that it would be helpful here as well:
      'That quotation from Mahatma Gandhi is often shared without an adequate understanding. The first thing we need to understand is that he wanted people to "face" the harms bravely and not to meekly accept them. Secondly, it had a broader point to make about violence and our reaction to it. I wrote about this elsewhere: "Many instances of oppression, slavery, and discrimination were also perpetuated in the name of common sense in the past. Even today, the temptation of revenge and violence continues to tear apart communities as people fail to see the vicious cycle for what it is. Mahatma Gandhi's point was not exactly a literal one. Instead, it was a form of spiritual/metaphorical idea that wanted to inspire confidence in those who were facing grave injustice. The point was that in the hypothetical scenario in which no option was left other than certain annihilation, there was greater value in standing firm rather than letting some forces cause terror, anger, and misery. None of this means that he was fine with what was happening. The context also matters. In that very paragraph, he is focusing on the fear of death and how to overcome it. Whether or not someone believes it, there is a significant difference in our emotional response to death if we are accepting it bravely. If one bravely sees it as destruction of a vessel that cannot harm the eternal Atman, then that kind of death has a higher dignity than one in which there is a futile hatred. At the same time, there is a deeper realisation of the inner divinity of all that Advaita Vedanta (which Mahatma Gandhi believed in) emphasises. With this understanding, the actions of others are ultimately a result of ignorance. This was the reason why he did not want people to harbour hatred in their hearts for others. Also, considering that this was translated, it is quite possible that by “ushering”, he only meant that even if a terrible tragedy occurred, there will still be a new world in which the good could arise and thrive again (which is an idea that any individual with a belief in a higher power that governs the universe would find compelling). Finally, he is not exactly telling people to give up. If a soldier says that they will “face” their enemies bravely, one would hope that this would not be interpreted as a call to surrender arms. Also, you don't need to "deify" someone to recognise that there aren't many people who would spend days in a riot-hit area (without any weapons) for the sake of establishing peace. Sardar Patel acknowledged the power of Mahatma Gandhi's efforts in his address to the nation in 1948."'

      @@NidzShah-ps6kra balanced critique of both sides:
      1. RM was on the business side of things more than research, it is quite likely that he was involved in AI in some form as the large players in computers were spooked by the progress of AI at that time. It was the era of Deep Blue beating Kasparov, something thought to be impossible for a computer at that time.
      2. I am deeply disappointed by the quality of critique towards RM in this video, the addition of AI research comes at the backdrop of him releasing a book on AI, not the news cycle of Open AI. It was an easy search that was missed.
      3. RM has a streak of Ego and self promotion that I dislike. I am truly interested to hear a critique even though I have followed him for two decades. I was a skeptic turned follower and now I am genuinely interested in understanding where he is right and where he is wrong. Instead of it we always get that Nityananda clip, yes he said that but anyone who watched the video in its full form can tell you he was pandering to him just like he does with his tougher crowds, Mark Tully to some American woman promoting Christian yoga(paraphrased, yoga minus the devil). If this is a valid MO, it's easy to discount Meghnad's journalistic cred and work on the basis of a goofy clip or any factual errors.
      4. He has done some serious work, for instance I found his book "Being different" truly compelling as a framework. Not dealing with his book breaking India gave an intellectual voice to Hindutva, so there is precedence for a left/liberal Hindu response to his work.

    Almost 10 years back, I came across Malhotra's book Being Different, and it definitely was a fascinating read. His outlook of viewing the contemporary philosophy and sociology from the "Dharmic perpspective" was refreshing for anyone used to eurocentrism, even though much of his arguments havent stood the test of time as i read more. And he was quite critical of Hindutva movements in the book too. I went out and bought his second book Breaking India and regretted the decision two chapters into reading it, seeing just how ill informed Mr Malhotra was was.
    The funniest aspect about this whole story is i got pulled towards Malhotra in the first place after reading heavily reading Ashis Nandy and Vinay Lal!. I'm not sure if newer editions of his books have been published, but i'm going to keep the book around as kind of a rough historical record.

    Plus points for not only having information just about the Ranveer's Fluffoganda but also some RUclips SEO strategies, which is great to see any content creator talking about it, when you have yourself done SEO for others.

    Small fact check on the existence of AI in 1970s. A lot of the fundamental algorithms were invented from 1960s onward. A* algorithm was developed / published in 1968 which is one of the fundamental algorithms taught in Computer Science / AI studies. Scheme is a programming language invented in the 1970s to make it easier to implement AI algorithms. For the general public, yes, AI has been a big talk in 2020, but the roots lie in the research done over the last 70 years.
    As for whether Rajiv is an expert in AI or not, that's a fact for someone else to check.

    Loved the man child Meghnad monologue in the end! It’s deep, well thought-out, and really well put. I mostly watch beer biceps podcast to laugh or scoff at absurdity that is spewed over there. But I never thought how it would actually impact young adults who are very impressionable. Heck, I voted for BJP 10 years ago because I was impressionable and didn’t know better. Beer biceps is making sure GEN Z falls into government propaganda, painting a rosy picture by subtly talking about “geopolitics”, how “India is perceived at the world stage”, and “how previous governments were no good”. With this feeling of Indian becoming a “Vishwaguru”, a gullible young person might be willing to overlook the hate politics of the ruling government, heavily endorsed by media. When the ministers and political experts you watch on beer biceps say most vile things about minorities while staying silent on real issues, you have already been brainwashed to believe whatever they are saying. Now add the layers of Godi media, bhakt parents, WhatsApp uncles and aunties spewing hatred, and voila you have become a “Bhakt” who has lost all agency of asking logical questions. And now when you combine all of this with rising inflation, poor educational facilities, and lack of employment opportunities, an internet troll is born. Very scary situation for the youth of India! Keep up the great work meghnad ❤

You need that much time to jump from geopolitics to physics to AI to Indian history. Us mortals can only do so much in one lifetime. Going to go delete my researchgate account for my kidlit papers now, brb.
