Thanks for the comments (at least the adult ones...). 1984 Euro W126 500SEL AMG. Impeccable provenance including the original Workorder from AMG Affalterbach, July 1984. Engine bored/stroked from 5.0 to 5.4L (310hp, 350 lbs torque). Solid lifters, AMG cams, ported/polished heads and intake manifold, tubular headers and downpipes to a full AMG Sebring exhaust system. AMG lowering springs and special valved Bilstein shocks (original AMG stickers still present, rebuilt to new condition by Bilstein), 2.82 LS diff. Full body kit. Wheels are 8x16 ET11 front and 9x16 ET0 rear five spokers. Full interior modifications including AMG steering wheel, speedometer and floor mats. Clarion G-80 rack stereo system and AMG speaker system. Recaro seats and extensive burl wood added to all four doors. Original paint and body. Exceptional original condition with complete known ownership history and many receipts from new. Shown at Hilton Head Concours (2011), Mercedes StarFest 2012 National Concours (2nd in Class), Amelia Island (2014) and numerous local and regional shows. AMG loved their logo - 37 AMG stamps or logos on the car! Anthracite Grey 172 paint, black interior. The SL in the garage is my wife's 1996 R129 SL320 with 3 piece AMG wheels by OZ Racing and AMG rear exhaust sourced from Japan. My daily driver is a 1991 560SEC, 10:1 Euro engine with tri-y's and Remus rear exhaust, AMG Aero I 8x17 ET11 wheels, Recaro seats.
AMG5PT4 Those where the times,when cartuning was about camshafts,manifold and exhaust harmony... Well,after all,the guys in Affalterbach seems to keep their heritage in quite as possible "condition"... Emissionstandars and legal requirements on noise("musik according to me")... The AMG car HAS a BETTER qualitystandard than Mercedes got today,and STILL aren't expensive (relative i % ) than they where back in the late 80's...
AMG5PT4 additions: when Daimler-Benz launched the 500E (W124) Almost The Same engine as you got in your S-Class, as an answer to the BMW M5 in the early 90's. They did not let AMG build the car. They just "Exported The Raw chassies" to the north of Stuttgart, Zuffenhausen, and let Porsche AG do the job. The result was in many ways quite as good as the AMG excellant had donated, with the BIG Difference: Keep it as a Mercedes but with higher standards on power An Road handeling, not so AMG'ish, so to speak. The car was a success, in that way that Daimler-Benz desired. Today is a 500e -91-95 an extremely sought after car, because it is sooo well built(you know WHAT i am talking about,cause you own a W126 ;-)
+AMG5PT4 so notning common between of that heap and some original AMG Mercedes just the ordinary american way of bungling, modifiing all that shit and looks like some cool stuff.

AMG exhausts from this period are not loud under light load...louder than stock yes, but still carry a distinction of being classy and elegant. Something that some people don't understand...
A telltale sign of a W126 that has been garaged for all its life is the reverse lights retaining their original glossy shine and staying free of any yellowing. It's getting rarer and rarer to see, but you have a very nice example here.
