Your statement at 26:04 really convinced me to buy the compressor with an air tank instead of that tank-less mini compressor. If one argues that the mini compressor is favorable for its portability, I just thought like "Actually, how many times will I move from my workspace? When will I ever use it outside?"
Thank you very much for always being honest with the reviews, sir!

I had the same issue as shadow silverlight did. I purchased a Master G233 and hose. I already had a compressor with tank. When I first tried out the G233 there was no airflow through the brush. I troubleshot the system and quickly determined that the air hose was the problem. Got that sorted out and the G233 is working great. No issues with airbrush!

Another great test.👍i really apreciate your work it saves money and time. Last week a had wow effect on my test. I bought a Harder and Steenbeck ultra airbrush and mounted it on my compressor. And without changing nothing on my setup there was the first effect, i had 0.3 bar more air pressure on this airbrush. So it means this cheap airbrush must have so many small leaks where the air is coming out, so in the end it makes a difference about 0.3 bar in working air pressure. 😕 thats Incredible.

The compressor I have is one of those like you described at the start with the adapter cable. It came in a very cheap Ebay kit from China. I ended up getting a slightly less cheap airbrush pretty quickly after the one from the kit went to shit. O ring got messed up from thinner and it started leaking air from the sides and bubbling in the cup. I still use the compressor but it's probably going to die on me sooner or later. It does weird noises. Sometimes it start with a low noise and barely has any air coming out. I need to shake it or hit it and then it gets louder and push more air. For as long as it work I will keep it because I don't airbrush that much but I will definitely never get one of those black box with red button again.

You might wanna go and do a video on just what airbrushes are used for what based on their equipment and needle size. 99% of all people watching these videos even those who have been years into the hobby are still clueless on what needle size really means and how air pressure is one of the most important parts of setting up your sessions. Needle size is not for determining paint line thickness (That's an entirely different adjustment...think nozzle) and gets people into trouble especially with miniature painting. Yes lines from a 3 will be thinner than a 5 but the actual use of needle size is for the media you are using the brush with, thicker media needs larger needle size to prevent over thinning using a smaller one. These Master brushes are great workers for the price and if their needles are polished routinely will perform as well as any Iwata or H&S. Master needles like the cheaper Chinese made brushes aren't polished to the degree higher end brands go to thus the difference out of the box is noticeable, after 3 or more good polishing sessions those cheap brushes and these Master brushes really start to shine (Polish those needles folks they are highly pitted causing "Fuzzing" and hazy lines until the pitting is removed).
P.S I know prices are important to little birdies who shop singing their "Cheap cheap" song, but compressors shouldn't be skimped on and I mean specifically having a tank on them, brands are pretty much the same as most are made in the same plants overseas, but never get or use one without a tank, you'll thank me later. These compressors like the one in this video are for nail painting not model painting and shame on companies for not stating that upfront & ripping off customers who quickly figure out these are useless for model use in general.
Great video Rex as always you get into the root of the items reviewed.

I didn't bother with these types of compressors with a little bit of research I built a silent compressor like the Bambi BB8 from a free oil lubricated refrigerator compressor I salvaged and $70aud 1hp 8L compressor on sale from a auto parts store so that I know the tank is safe, I put on a SMC oil mist separator from ebay and had a completely silent compressor that has a 8L tank and can run a airbrush continuously or even larger spray gun intermittently.

seems to be an unfair comparison as far as the compressor goes...should have tried Your hose on the new compressor since the New compressor hose was completely new versus the used and broken in hose on your daily use compressor. granted those hoses on the new compressor kink very easy because i have the portable handheld compressor that includes hose when you dont want to hold compressor and when i first hooked it up, i had same issue as you, nothing coming out until i found the kink. after that and laying to hose out to relax from being packed, i had no problems with it and it sprayed just fine. so a more fair comparison would be to use your broken in hose on new compressor to see how it compares to the brand new hose shipped with the kit.

You rarely get what you pay for but you certainly always pay for what you get.. This compressor is a case of not paying much and getting even less. A newcomer to airbrushing would end up becoming so frustrated with this he/she might walk away from the hobby. Not everyone will be able to get a good compressor with a large air tank right away but springing an extra amount for at least an entry level compressor with a tank will keep newbies interested and even half decent results will help them learn and improve.

The sad thing about a set like this is that they're killjoys, the ruiner of hobbies. I can imagine a kid or even an adult who is excited to get into the hobby of models and painting, and either they or one of their loved ones, with the best of intentions, buys this because it seems like an incredible deal to open the door to the craft. And they end up getting some noisy, unreliable POS that ends up being no fun for anybody, makes airbrushing feel like crap, and makes them put it away and give up.
