    These guys, especially Kent, are national treasures! I have owned an old Benz (1970 280SE) for 35 years. I've tried to maintain this car, even though I don't use it for years at a time. I'm watching Kent talking about shift lever linkage, where the bushings need to be replaced, but they are impossible to install. I remember trying to replace the same bushings about 30 years ago. I left the bushing out because I could not push it in place. Sloppy shifting forever. Here is Kent showing me a tool he made to install the bushing! I order his kit, get the new tool and now the bushing is right where it should have been all those years ago. I am amazed! I'm doing a rolling restoration on the car right now, that I have planned to do in my "golden years".Thank you, Kent. You are truly a master.

    I'm 3 days away from buying a 1991 MB 300CE. It runs a drives great, but it has 200,000 miles on it. I'm getting it at a ridiculous price and know that I'll be putting in some work. Looking forward to ANY content on all things W124....inside, outside, top to bottom. Love the channel.

      That type of miles is low for a MB... I drove several MB with more than 1.500.000km and are great!

      Have you done it? I'm looking at a 92 190e 1.8cc. How's the project going so far? Needed a lot of money?

    Hi, Kent! I want to thank you for all your videos, they are very interesting, helpful and kind of educational for me. I'm working now on my W123 with swapped OM601 from W201 in it. It was my old dream to own a car like this and it finally came true. And it was a nice surprise for me also to find out that you're a private pilot, just like me (I fly YAK-52, YAK-18T and Cessna-172). Please go on and continue making your marvellous videos. My best wishes, lots of thanks and best regards to you! Eugene from Russia 🤝

    Is there a risk of breaking through the anodizing? Most of the website information on American cars I have seen says you can't polish anodized aluminum, you have to remove the anodizing, polish it, and then reanodize it. But it looks like you have found a way.

    Kent, did you ever do the update on this polishing episode? I have this problem on some of My Volvo Amazon trim. That is super tough too.
    I think I can add that you should keep the pad off the adjacent paint! This can be a pain.

    Would you recommend this for newer models with trim that is fogged up such as on the w202 or would you recommend something else. Thanks!

    Kent: Have you ever tried this on the anodized black trim on the W124 roof rack? I bought the kit to use on other trim on the 124. And I think the multi tool will be great to work on the time worn chrome on my 1951 Ford Woody wagon trim. The front and rear fenders need some serious work.

    • @Mercedessource
      @Mercedessource  4 года назад

      Yes I have. You have to be very careful. It will polish mild dulling, but it will not restore badly deteriorated black trim. You will end up buying through.

    trim on my 190e became yellowish, does this kit fixes that?

    • @Mercedessource

      This polish will only work on the golden trim if the fading is minor. Otherwise you might polish through the color

    I have been absolutely killing my arms trying to find something to fix this issue on my car - Will this compound work on the window trim of a newer model E350?

      Sorry I can not say. I have never tried it on any of the newer models. You can send some close up pictures of the trim in question and I can advise. Send to sales@mercedessource.com

    Is the pad a Rayon glass polishing pad that you attached to a Fein Multimaster accessory? Is Cerium Oxide a part of your polishing compound? Great job on the trim!

    • @Mercedessource
      @Mercedessource  4 года назад +3

      No. Sorry. Cerium oxide will burn through the anodized surface.

    Kent: Will this compound help to mediate light scratches in the anodized aluminum?
    Thanks

    • @Mercedessource
      @Mercedessource  4 года назад

      David, it depends on what you mean by light? if the scratches are on the surface they can be polished out. If the scratch goes through the anodized surface it is probably there for good.
