Finding A Skeleton spawner could be really good for this due to the bones they drop making a easy source of bones and lighting up the area around you and underground and making your render distance small as possible and the lower the spawner the better because the lower you go the more often mobs will spawn increasing the income of bones and using a bubble elevator to get up and down (This could be a quicker but rarer thing to get but would most likely increase the amount of sugarcane by a lot)

if the bones are for bonemeal you can't bonemeal sugar can in java edition which they are on
