My first exposure to Touhou. I saw the maid wielding knives, and I thought "okay, is she an evil maid?" I knew nothing about Touhou Project, so I thought nothing of it. I checked out gameplay of Touhou 9 where the remix was based on and I saw (in my eyes) a generic anime game. Over time, I would become more and more aware of Touhou Project. Mostly through memes (thanks Lost Pause :D). A few years back, I decided to look into what Touhou was. I was overwhelmed. So much lore and characters, I thought I HAD to know everything to understand what was going on. Long story short, I checked out the games, and I loved them. But what caused me to investigate (heh) Touhou in the first place? One day, when I was searching for "offbrand" on my phone, I had the urge to search "maid offbrand" into the search bar. Eventually, I found her. Sakuya Izayoi. She was the sole reason I got into Touhou in the first place. Heck, she molded me into the person I am today. Without her, I would have been a VERY different person. Sakuya is a very important person to me (especially considering I'm slightly autistic) and I'm glad I listened to Night of Nights.

In 2020 I'd fallen off of the touhou train a little. but fast forward to now and I'm probably at my peak of touhou fan-content and actual information about the franchise. I'm just getting back into it so I'm getting some fanon and Canon mixed up but other than that I'm having fun interacting with members of this community. (Also touhou has so much přøñ jesus christ I'm supplied for years)

I’m honestly surprised that the Rampaging Sakuya video was not mentioned. I had never heard of Touhou at the time the video released, but based on what I heard I thought it was at least somewhat influential

I think the drums in the song represents a .50 desert eagle firing point blank at you, because that is what you would rather have to face other than Sakuya's Killing Doll. Another interpretation would that the drums is the sound you make when you slam your face on the keyboard after using the bomb you needed for Remilla on Sakuya. It's very deep.
I didn’t know it was as relevant as it is, whenever I show people night of nights or flowering night usually they tell that that it sounds like something they’ve heard before, my age group is from the late late 2000’s like 2008 or 2007 so I guess it is something that they may have heard when they were really young
My first real exposure to Touhou project was the fangame focusing mainly around Sakuya and her time abilities called Touhou Luna Nights. The game is a very fun metroidvania platformer style one, and it has some very faithfully reproduced remixes of a lot of music from Touhou 6 EoSD and a few others from later games (Marisa and Nitori's themes, for example). SPOILERS! Night of Nights plays in the last boss fight against Flandre in the last phase of the boss fight, and it makes YOU feel like the boss, haha!

So this song made me go and play the games in order and I became a fan. I wish there was a youtube channel focusing on touhou doujin artists and talking and discussing about noteable circles and releases to the western audience. :weary:

Yeah it’s something where I was listening to Luna Dial randomly one day and was like: “…Hey wait a second.”
