Indiana Jones 3: The last crusade is the best part. You will see the childhood of Indiana Jones played by River Phoenix (brother of Joaquin Phoenix). RIP. The father of Indiana Jones is played by James Bond aka Sean Coneroy. Action sequences are top notch. It's climax is the best ending for the franchise. So I would say ignore the new one and the 2008 sequel. They are cash grabs.
