What most people forget is that in the movie, Chatur or Silencer as we call him, is also very successful indeed if you think success in monetary terms/higher posts. But people seem to focus only on Rancho. Silencer owns they best car, the best job, doesn't need to worry about anything in life. He did indeed come back to show them how successful he is even though all he could do was mug up things during his engineering.

I would agree with you on this point that, most of us loved the movie because it affirmed our own world views. The movie was a like pat on our backs, an escape sort of from the realities of our surroundings and harsh realities of life. I personally liked the movie because of the ideas it presented but unfortunately not all ideas can be fully implemented, though we can only try.

Exactly, been saying this for years, thanks for saying it. Original book (Five point someone) had a balanced story where each of the characters had some strengths and some weaknesses. Hari was a bumbling idiot with parent issues but got the girl, Ryan was brilliant and good looking but without ambition or parental support, Alok was diligent and got a job as planned, but was a nerd with no life and almost died. Instead in the movie we got rajubhai hiraniwale feel-good bs....sabse accha kaun?...rancho!. Baki log to timepass ke liye h. Entire dark, irreverent tone and dark humor of the book was sacrificed for Rajubhai's slapstick fall-on-banana-peel, alls-well-that-ends-well humor that is trademark of aamir khan. Movie was good as a standalone film but totally destroyed the essence of the book.
Hirani's movie was great. It appealed to the mass audience at the same time having a great message and touching some serious social issues. It's difficult to make a film that's critically acclaimed as well as a blockbuster.
1/30th is still okay if you are going for a naturalistic look on a photograph, a slight blur can give a very nostalgic look. But yes, thoda badha dena chahiye tha, maybe 1/50th or 1/60th, but that comes at the risk of compromising on the lighting.

What most people forget is that in the movie, Chatur or Silencer as we call him, is also very successful indeed if you think success in monetary terms/higher posts. But people seem to focus only on Rancho. Silencer owns they best car, the best job, doesn't need to worry about anything in life. He did indeed come back to show them how successful he is even though all he could do was mug up things during his engineering.

I would agree with you on this point that, most of us loved the movie because it affirmed our own world views. The movie was a like pat on our backs, an escape sort of from the realities of our surroundings and harsh realities of life.
I personally liked the movie because of the ideas it presented but unfortunately not all ideas can be fully implemented, though we can only try.

Exactly, been saying this for years, thanks for saying it. Original book (Five point someone) had a balanced story where each of the characters had some strengths and some weaknesses. Hari was a bumbling idiot with parent issues but got the girl, Ryan was brilliant and good looking but without ambition or parental support, Alok was diligent and got a job as planned, but was a nerd with no life and almost died. Instead in the movie we got rajubhai hiraniwale feel-good bs....sabse accha kaun?...rancho!. Baki log to timepass ke liye h. Entire dark, irreverent tone and dark humor of the book was sacrificed for Rajubhai's slapstick fall-on-banana-peel, alls-well-that-ends-well humor that is trademark of aamir khan. Movie was good as a standalone film but totally destroyed the essence of the book.
Book had more layered charecters instead of caricatures of particular trait

1/30th is still okay if you are going for a naturalistic look on a photograph, a slight blur can give a very nostalgic look. But yes, thoda badha dena chahiye tha, maybe 1/50th or 1/60th, but that comes at the risk of compromising on the lighting.
