Well planned. According to your situation and tastes for me I ll spend less time at Fuji and more on onsens. Izakaya hopping and kabuki performances and tea ceremony I’ll stay more in Kyoto and Nara along with visit to Odawara castle( since Oam a Japanese history buff) and a day more in Osaka my favourite city . Also I would opt out JR pass as I have 2 small kids cat service though expensive suits us in Japan anyways going in July last week for the Olympics !

You should have tried the vending machine for food and so many other things! Also Japan has one of the best cafes and coffee shops...you could have tried if not for restaurants!

Japan is overall extremely punctual about its timings. So there are no delays in the transportation. We still keep flexibility of time. Nothing was fixed. . The excel sheet was just a broad guideline. . The trip has to have a balance and spontaneity.

1) Yes. . But limited options 2) JR is very much worth buying if you are travelling long distances and over 10 days. Also local Travel within the city is also allowed with JR . It definitely saves a lot of times. 3.) You can travel everywhere with bus but the distances are very big. Bullet train takes 1/10th the time of a bus. . You can cover more in short time

Cherry blossom season is over rated and expensive season to travel. Just a few parks with these trees. Not worth it
