The jam looks really good! Makes me wish I had an elderberry bush :) Thanks for a kitchen vlog!

It is also because of the seeds. It is a very seedy jam. I like it anyway:)

Yes I actually like the crunch of the seeds! It was totally worth making.

@@AdventuresinGardening I always use a very fine strainer after cooking my elderberry's down for juice and I have no issues with seeds. I always strain and mash the cooked berries to extract all the juice I can; even apart from the juice that cooked up. Love, love, love my elderberry jelly and syrup. I take the syrup/tincture myself; but it is good to freeze some of it so it can be thawed later due to expiring if kept too long in fridge.

That looks delicious! I wonder if elderberry muffins would be any good?

I was told I could not eat the berry so when I seen you eating it I have to ask?

Thankyou for your jam video Heather. Have you ever made chokecherry? Where do I get pamona pectin?

You can get Pomona’s through Amazon or a local health food store will usually carry it. No I’ve not used chokecherry! You’ll have to let me know how it comes out 🙂

    How long do you process?

Hi Dawn, I followed the directions on the Pomona packet so I can only speak for that. Half pints processed for 10 minutes, keeping in mind to add 1 minute for every 1000 feet above sea level. Thanks and have a great day!
