Great open road footage. How are those trailers to ride with and handle compared with a traditional touring pannier set-up?

Hi Jay. I like the bags way better. Read the last comment to Shark Mentality. I like that it's all one unit and the weight helps with traction or so I believe. Especially going downhill. Im as minimalist as I can be about what I carry too so my bike is super light considering I carry everything I need. One day I'll make a video showing what I have in them. Safe riding

Thank you. I filmed the entire trip before starting editing which I had never done before. I watched as much of my filming as I went so I could get better at it. Next time will be even more improved as I have learned a lot from the editing process.

I love mountains and that stretch was great. I bet that was a blast. The garage was a great offer. People seem to be so much kinder when you are on a bike. Atb, Tony

Totally, if we all gave ourselves to being more vulnerable during our life, we would find that most people are looking to give a helping hand. It's true human nature for the most part. Episode after next, Red Lodge Ep20, has another amazing example of this. Stay tuned and thank you for watching

They are cool dudes. The Bighorns seemed low in traffic and as beautiful as it gets. That HWY 14 East climb was the first climb into the Rockies I have ever done. My intro into high mountain passes and it blew me away. All I can think of now is going for more.

Trailer sway is a thing on a bicycle. Didn't realize that until watching this trailered bike going downhill. That could be a real issue under braking. Wonder if it is big enough problem to require trailer brakes to stop trailer sway?

That crossing the double yellow solid line is a Huge no, no...I had two friends die in Dalohegha Georgia because they crossed the double yellow line at high speed and could not get back on the right side in time. I know the down hill is thrilling but that is a huge no no Diegito. You are a bad boy and that is a classic rookie behavior.

Sometimes you can call to a dog: "Come puppy? Wanna go for a run?" To a badly trained dog, the word "come" means "run away." It works sometimes. Probably not even half the time, but sometimes it works.

Hi John. That makes sense and never heard of it so I will try next time I run into a pooch scenario. I tend to let them chase me and eventually tell them to go home. I think that's another usual command they understand. Thanks for reaching out.

Thanks Mark. Im learning a lot with each video. Lots more emphasis on capturing the ambient noise and sounds, narrations, and music volume. I pre recorded the entire trip so now I know how to improve my filming for next summer's trip, season 2

Nice video, been watching all of your across USA ones, I like your narrations. How does your friend like towing the trailer, seems like a bit added weight, and descending with it would make you brake more. West of Washakie, Alpine, is where will be residing when I want to get away from the Oregon coast. I'm originally from Vegas two years ago and I miss the desert. Do you use Strava, be cool to see your routes and maybe helpful for my trek. 😊

Hi Daniel. The trailer is ok but hard for me to say since I've never toured with one. I prefer the weight on the bike. To me it feels great to feel the bike like that. I don't use Strava but all my routes are in the episodes with the mapping. Thanks for saying nice things about my channel. Take care and keep in touch.

Hey dude. The first USA trip is a great story. I'm loving this playlist. Unfortunately it seems the 18th-21st episode is out of order with the rest of the playlist. Just thought you should know in case you want to do a quick correction.

@@FlyscoutRyder you have an incredible voice and style. I really like how you show your journey. You seem very conscious to learn about the places you visit. I really enjoyed learning about it all too. Awesome videos. I can't wait to watch the second adventure and see what you get up to.

Just watched both your videos and they are really great. If you have more content to create more videos please do so. I subscribed. Thank you for watching my channel and reaching out. Tonight is the upload of the Powder River Pass episode in WY during 20 degree weather with crazy scenery. Hope to hear back from you and that you do your summer trip and document it. If we all shared our trips like you did we could get more people out there seeing this beautiful country by bicycle. Its an awesome thing to share

@@FlyscoutRyder Thanks for the comments. I agree about the sharing. I hope to get more people into this. In Europe, families spend their vacations cycling around Europe. I want to see that happen here. I have a bunch of videos in the queue, just trying to get my editing and color-grading chops figured out. And, yes, I'll share my experiences. Cheers!

Hey man great videos. I like how you give info on the places you are. Like the stuff we don't need to know but it is interesting.
i have a question for you.
On average how many miles or kilometers do you do a day?

    • @FlyscoutRyder
      @FlyscoutRyder  3 года назад +1

Great question Matt. During my first 2,000 miles I was averaging about 60 miles per day. Some days I would go 40 miles because of logistics, but other days I would go as many as over 80 miles. Then I would do a 50 something mile day the next day. Once I got to the Rockies into my 3,000 miles from the start, and conditioned my legs further, I was averaging well into the 70 miles per day even though there were many more hills and mountains to go over. Thanks for watching
