For some reason this BMC team machine R really catches my eye, everything about the bike, now I think if you get this bike it needs to be complemented with there own one piece bar and stem but the whole asesthtics of this bike looks just fast..... I would change the wheels also to something a little more deep.... but yea I hope you enjoy the video
great bike BUT the pricing is circa 2021 instead of 2024 with high interest rates. i know a dealer who discounted heavily 2023 bmc's to move stock. BMC does not have cache value of a pinarello/sworks to charge these prices. They need to introduce more affordable versions with color options.
I just had one of these built, with the black frame from the 04 in size 56 and the ics cockpit, with full Super record EPS 12s, and it comes out to 7.8kg with garmin pedals, wtf am I missing here in terms of weight?? Its supposed to be no difference in frame weights for the different colours right? I have an swroks saddle, pirelli rs tyres with latex tubes and hyper d67 wheels, which are 200g lighter than the dtswiss. where the hell are these 600g coming from?
5:34 I ride an Orbea Orca. I’m just here to share that from experience, forks play a tremendous role on how a bike feels to steer. I am very particular on how a bike handles. I like bikes with surgical precise handling. One that’s able to place us (the bike and I) where ever and when ever I point it. one that reacts to me when I am correcting my line midway into a turn. Orbea Orca and Factor Ostro have these “bowed forks” and I swear they handle so much nicer compared to bikes that don’t have forks like that. On another daily beater commuter bike, it had a slack fork on an endurance frame which I then swapped it out for a fork that copied the geometry of an Enve fork and I enjoyed that bike more after the fork swap! ❤
As much as I like all things bikes and cycling the new industry trend of overweight, overpriced legacy brands will eventually kill the vibe for being excited about the new model year bikes. I’ll have to admit that Chinese brands are more in touch with what consumers want and are willing to pay. I see a trend of retro mod rim brake bikes being popular with young kids wanting to get involved in the sport
I had a previous 2022 Team Machine model and the slight refinements they did to the new one makes it look so slick. The older one was clean an minimal, but this one looks fast with its new lines. I like the look of the old one but I think this is an improvement.
Now that's more like it 🔥 Also, Marin has had a super wide super deep fork on their gravel /all road bikes for years now and yeah, they're crazy fast, slip through the wind and you can absolutely feel it. Wide deep forks are coming
Fantastic review nothing left out i love BMC bikes however i will never have $ 9000 to spend on a bike regardless to all the extras and hype im thinking about the Electric bike for $2200 you showed us a few days ago and the great deal that is loved the video thanks.
For an aero road bike, I'd have to go with a Scott Foil or Cervelo S5. Probably won't be until 2026, but I'll definitely end up replacing my old Fuji with one of those eventually. My only true hope is that by then there will be an aero drop bar that has integrated attachment points for aero extension uprights to be bolted on. I only do ultra-distance rides, and a super light aero bike with integrated aero cockpit would be the bees knees.
Enjoy your channel dude - you sell BMC now which is cool, but let's be fair, the Aeroad CF SLX with same spec but with 62mm wheels and integrated cockpit is lighter for the same size... I don't remember you calling it light. However we do need to normalize "light-ish" aero bikes because aero is faster everywhere except only one way climbs. As far as value though, BMC is out to lunch on price and actually a little higher than Spesh. Same spec SL-8 Pro model is $500 less. That is the headline.
yea I think this bike is priced high of course, but I think companies do this on there new models when they ahve low stock because they know they will sell unfortunately, they have mininal inventory so they are like sell the ones we can for high price, shit is crazy
I used to think giant propel adv pro 0 for 8k was pricey now against this that looks vfm, given it has pwr mtr too. Damnn will need to wait 1 more year to enable a purchase of this kind.
OEM Wheels on a 9k bike… I like BMC, but I would never buy a complete bike, after they switched to there own wheels. Complete bikes are a scam anyway since you can build up the same bike with better wheels for less money, when you just buy the frame. That applies to basically ever "top tear" bike today.
@@petersouthernboy6327 When I say better wheels I don't mean buy the most expensive ones you can find... There are plenty of cheaper options, which are still better than the OEM wheels. For example the Magene EXAR Ultra 50|58 - most balanced wheelset on the market. They are 231g lighter than the Reserve 52|63 TA (with DT 240 hubs) and costs $1000 less. Sure they are just 30mm wide, but I also don't seen a 35mm wide wheel (Reserve) on an aero bike, even tho I would prefer it for comfort. Officially, the clearance is rated for a maximum 30 mm tires anyway. My personal choice would be some custom wheels based on Light Bicycle Falcon Pro AR565 with secret hubs I won't tell you :P But for the record an example: the Flyweight rims with Carbon-Ti hubs weighs around 1400g and cost 1288.18€ with shipping to germany (with 10% discount code). I'm not familiar with dollar prices, but it's usually comparable to euro. You can get an Ultegra Di2 groupset with discs and everthing for around 1500€ (without BB). The cheapest offer for the frameset I could find was 5400€ in my size. So 5400 for the frameset, 1500 for the groupset, 1288.18 for the wheels = 811,82€ to play with for BB, tires, saddle, bartape and maybe the cost for the build if you don't do it by yourself. The frameset also comes with the one-piece cockpit instead of the bar and stem combo which you get with "complete bike". Personally I would go with SRAM Force 1x for the groupset, which is also a bit cheaper in my country. You are right - the frameset is actually quite expensive at 6k. For the most other bikes out there, the price difference between custom and complete bike would be much higher.
I have just ordered a Storck Aerfast 4 AXS DT SWISS 62mm its a stunning looking bike and weighs only 7.7 kilos. It was equal first in the German tour magazine test in terms of watts supposedly needed to attain and hold 40 kph it a wind tunnel test. It comes in such a great colour of emerald electric green. Having said all this they actually said that the Specialized Tarmac s works SL8 was absolutely the best all round bike they have ever tested so it seems the hype is true!

Shame BMC have just had to beg the Swiss government for financial help to keep jobs! Poor workers potentially losing jobs due to absolutely mental price point of the BMC range and the Swiss public paying to bail them 🤦♂️
