Word. I'm finding myself backing off a lot of my critical thinking and admitting my love for softer more commercial stuff. I'm getting old! Great comment!
Dude you are cool. You acknowledged that people love ABBA for reasons of their own. And as a manly man I don't really know why but I'm happy to tear up and suck them back in for these songs.
I heard this song a lot growing up but didnt get it. Then I didn't hear ABBA again for a long time til the early 90's when in nostalgia I bought their CD. I cried like a baby! This is such a heartbreaking song...when she says "And i understand, you've come to shake my hand" oh my gosh!!! And then she said she has no self confidence because the winner ( the other woman) takes it all!! Oh my goodness! Such a powerful way to put a breakup! Great song, great reaction
ABBA....Agnetha (blonde) Bjorn guitar...Benny.. Anifried....i luv the vevo video for this.... I'm glad you. Discovered ABBA ......Thank you for keeping great music alive
I think the smiles were part of performing. The video really shows the emotion of this song. It's a very sad song lyrically but ABBA had a talent for making sad songs that sounded damn cheerful. Their voices are magical tho.
I'm not afraid to admit that I LOVE ABBA. I know that hard core rock fans always thumbed their nose at ABBA....but you have to tip your hat to them....songs are memorable....great hooks......and you can sing along with them,
I'd totally recommend reacting to Abba's song "Does your mother know" it might not be your cup of tea but it's my favourite abba song ad one of the very few abba songs sung by the men of the group
A song written by her ex-husband - the guy on the guitar beside her - and (kind of) about their break up. And she is singing it stood next to him. "Like playing a part" she said - and only later realised they had written/performed something pretty special.
Benny Andersson on piano, came from Swedish folk music. Usually happy. After divorcing other singer Annifrid he had alcohol problems. Sober since +25 years!
The blonde Agnetha ( I think) had just gotten divorced from the guy next to her. He wrote this song. Then he had a new gf right away. So actually she was very sad . It was a rotten thing for him to do.
@@baconair he remarried a day after their divorce was finalised 🤷🏼.Hon one of my moms friend is the biggest ABBA fans in the world(probably the biggest)..you really think I wouldn't know that🤷🏼
Try ABBA - Hole In Your Soul (1977), epic rock'n'roll (glam rock) featurig Agnetha's metal vocal specially written for Wembley and Canada / US tour. totally underated hit. Probably the best their track. It's gotta be ABBA to fill the hole in our soul during quarantine!!!
I like your reaction to this song, ABBA has such an extensive range of songs. Yes they were super big at the time and still big now. They had a huge following in Australia and there is even a movie called ABBA: The Movie. HazeBruv maybe you can check out 80s group Transvision and their music video "I want your love."
@@proverbs35-67 Karen Carpenter failed singing cover to the Thank you for the music by ABBA. Type "thank you for the music Carpenter". Compare with the original.
The singer was married to the guitar player. He wrote this for her after the divorce. She cried when they recorded at the studio, as she had not seen it as of yet nor heard it. By the way the Bee Gees and Abba pretty much tied right behind The Beatles ;) enjoy. Cheers.
HazeBruv, you don't have to act like a child when you're listening to this song or any other song. The Winner Takes it All is a deeply personal song about a couple going through a divorce at a time when the lead singer here, Agnetha, and the guitar player and backing vocals, Bjorn Ulvaeus, were going through their own real life break-up. ABBA were more than a pop group; there is always considerable depth to the lyrics and the composition in every one of their songs, as in this excellent song. Yet you seem to have NOTHING to say about either except "OK, OK".
I like the original music video, you can see the sadness in Agnetha's eyes and I find it interesting that she is with Benny a lot in the video, while Bjorn is hanging out with Frida. It shows the separation.
@@Pulsar77 I think it's because when you search for the song this is the first video that comes up. There's nothing on the official video that identifies it on a RUclips search

I remember when they won the Eurovision song contest and went on to have a string of hits in the 70s. It was not cool to like them. They were too poppy. Now tho i can appreciate how complex and perfectly put together the songs are. They're great.
Ok...don't talk...just sing about it...and I'll sit here playing my piano..don't look at me when you say fool either...she? You can't even say her name! Benny ..you the winner!

Hiihiihi, I agree... happy tears for ABBAS new album vouger, Thanks TANKS ABBA for ALL mucis !!!!!!!
The back story to this song is what makes this song soooooooooo incredible. And makes Agnetha's performance so amazing.
what makes Agnetha's performace so amazing is her voice
Benny, the pianist, always looks happy when he's playing. Maybe because it reminds him that he's a genius.
