    Parcells was a genius at letting his players know who the boss was, while also letting his players know he really cared about them.

      Very rare to find coaches like Parcells. Tough, but he wants the best for you. Not only teaching guys to play smart, but teaching guys to become and remain smart men AFTER football. You know a man is a great coach when the lessons he teach, can be used on and off the field.

    Parcells was really a better teacher than a head coach. Given that he won two SBs and made a Championship with the no-hoper Jets that is a high compliment. Belichick, Coughlin, Payton, Lynn they all learned a lot from Parcells and its shows. Payton still refers to him as Coach Parcells.

    Football royalty right here. The Giants Patriots and especially Jets were horrific when he look over, and Dallas wasn't so great either. Turned them all around quickly and left them better than they were when he got there.
    And Tom Coughlin is often left of the coaching tree mentions. Shouldn't be. Great coach.

      Ishmael Darjean yes sir all great winners too. Belichek and Payton Super bowl winners and then there’s Saban. He had a way of running things that wouldn’t work now. I loved watching his teams play. I remember one specific game where they upset the 49 era to make it to the super bowl. Just ran time off of the clock like pulling teeth. I think they had 4 drives of over 8 minutes. Wow.

      One of his gifts was knowing which players he *had* to take shit from and which ones he didn't. Belichick tells a story about how early in his career, LT kept showing up late for meetings. When he went to Parcells to ask how to handle the situation, Parcells replied, "Why are you starting your meetings so early?"

    In the 30 For 30 with Bellichick, Bellickick pointed out that what made them two works so well was the balance between Bellichick being very detail-oriented and even obsessive, and Parcells being more about the big-picture. I think this interview is another good example of that.

    Coach Parcells is my all time favorite. He has that same East Rutherford accent my grandmother had. That and his very "matter-of-fact" poignancy and wisdom really won me over, inspired me and impacted me a great deal over the years. I really miss seeing him coach and hearing his input on football and life matters. What a great man.

    He took over the 1-15 Jets, and immediately turned them around.
    We went from 1-15, to missing the playoffs by 1 game in his first year.
    In his second season, we were in the AFC Championship Game.
    He turned it around so quickly that if Ray Lucas didn't throw that 4th quarter interception in the end zone in the last game of the season, we would have gone from 1-15 to 10-6 and a playoff spot in one freaking year.
    What a great coach. And I didn't even mention what he did with the Giants. And how he took the Patriots to the Super Bowl.

    I can definitely see why some of his former coaches and players would call him on father's day. He helped build them as men. I have a great affection and respect for him even though I am a Washington football team fan. If you couldn't play for the Tuna you couldn't play. He was the patron saint of those who were misunderstood and some that didn't know how to grow and improve their talent. One of greatest coaches ever.

    Parcells won 2 Super Bowls, Payton 1, Caughlin2, and of course Belichik 6. That’s 11 Super Bowls he had his mark on. I don’t think anyone else can say that🤔

    That's awesome. I like how Parcells says *a dozen* men he's coached or hired call him on Father's Day. *Decades* later. Reminds me a lot of Jim Kelly's and Brett Favre's HOF speeches, how they gave thanks to so many people who were responsible for their inductions. .

  • @stocksgoupward5922
    @stocksgoupward5922 11 месяцев назад

    Parcells won every where and he rebuilt teams. Giants were a disaster and he built them into a power and and a champion. Paatriots he totlally rebuilt and got them to the superbowl by the time Belichick took over Parcells foundation there was still in place. He totally rebuilt the Jets and got them to a conference championship after only a year or two removed from a 1-15 team. and the Cowboys were mired in 3 consectutive 5-11 seasons and he turned them immediatly around to playoffs first season and 3 winning seasons in 4 years and it was his team that Wade Philips took over that went 13-3 in his first season. now many other winning NFL coaches went to other teams and had no success. Parcells always had success.
