    The Nut on a newer electromatic is Graph Tech NuBone so the stock nut is good you just may need to clean up the cut a little. If you go to home depot in the wedding tool section they have a tip/ torch cleaner. Its a little tin box usaly blue with different gages of serrated wires. Less than $10 I think ( it has been awhile since I bought mine) you get the right size and use it to clean up the cut of your nut and you can use it to slightly reshape your bridge saddles. I hope this helps. Also I tighten up my Bigsby arm so that there isn't much flex at the base by the nut. If yours is very loose and you have a lot of flex at the nut It could be causing your problem there.

      I’ve been using Bert’s Bees chapstick to lube the nut and that seems to fix that issue. I haven’t had any issues with the vibrato arm since this video haha

    Thanks for demoing this guitar! I am a shorter guy and was wondering how big the body is. Is it closer to an es-335 or 339?

    • @ZachariahConnor
      @ZachariahConnor  Год назад +1

      It’s 16” wide at the widest. I’d say it’s a little smaller in width than the 335. I’m only 5’8” so maybe that might help.

      Thank you for watching!! I have not, I just deal with them. I might buy some nice gold strap buttons to throw on there, but I’m pretty ok with the stock ones. I’m not playing this guitar with a strap often enough to care haha

    • @1Wottie
      @1Wottie 3 года назад +2

      I've had no issue with the G5422TG studs, but I have with the same locking studs on my G5220. The solution is easy. Take the thumb screw off and remove the black screw from the guitar using a small cross-head screwdriver. Put some superglue in the hole with a wooden toothpick and then quickly drive the black screw back in. You will be all sorted after that and the screw will not turn when you tighten the thumb-screw on our strap.

    • @faautobahna9416
      @faautobahna9416 3 года назад

      @@1Wottie Thank you Mark. I will try it today, to buy super glue first (brand you'd suggest?). My G5657T even though bought new a few months back has this problem on back one. Won't even need use screw driver as the black screw comes off easily with a soft finger turn. Sorry if it's a dumb quest but when putting super glue inside should I let part of wooden toothpick or something else remain inside just to ensure tight fit? How is experience with G5220 play wise?

    • @1Wottie
      @1Wottie 3 года назад

      @@faautobahna9416 Any super glie will work. I used loctite. I didn't leave any of the toothpick in the screw hole, I just used it to push the glue down into the hole before putting the screw back in. You do need to act fast as these glues set really quick. Your screw sounds looser than mine was. I could not finger turn it. Still think you will be fine using just the glue though. Make sure your screw driver is spot on fo rthe job first though (it's really small and I used a set of small drivers used to fix sunglasses etc. The G5220 is such a sweet guitar. so comfortable to play and complements the blacktop Filtertron clad G5422tg with the hotter / higher output blacktop Broadtrons. You can easily justify having both. Good luck sorting your stud.

      @@1Wottie I was gonna say the same thing. I put a tooth pick in there with some wood glue drilled a small hole.. very small Screwed the stud back in let it dry never had any more problems. From time to time when I pick my Gretsch's up I give the stap knob a little turn they do loosen up over time. I also use eather a washer between the strap and the knob or a rubber stap thing ( I don't know what they are called. I get them off resealable cider bottles from the store)

    is it getting out of tone like a frequent thing (like do u have tune after a song) or is it more like after a typical worship set u have to tune it.
    im really considering one but the tuning issue has me really concerned...
    i have a bigsby on a Schecter PT Fastback and the tuning is nearly flawless right out the box

    • @ZachariahConnor
      @ZachariahConnor  2 года назад +1

      It’s not unusable, but I struggle with the tuning a bit more than my Jazzmaster or telecaster. If you use 10-52 or 11 gauge strings and lube the nut properly, you should be fine

    • @ZachariahConnor

      Look, I literally did part of the demo with no effects. I also have another video where I actually reviewed the guitar where I used less effects. There are literally hundreds of other videos where other people have demoed this guitar with no effects, therefore I wanted to showcase this guitar how I like to use it. Some people happen to like the reverb, delay, and chorus that I like to use. If you hate what sounds I choose to use, I don’t blame you. But I’d prefer if you didn’t leave mean comments :)
