Believe it or not, I cook my lumpia like Mama Olga did. I don’t put too much oil because oil is expensive. I use oil just enough to cover half of the lumpia and just flip it over. I also cook lumpia in air fryer. I just brush it with olive oil. It tastes the same. So do whatever floats your boat. I don’t think there is a right way or wrong way of cooking. Your kitchen, you do it your way.
For those suggesting that they shud make their own, andrei already mentioned in the video that they plan to that next time. So, y keep repeating it? Did u guys actually watch and listen to the video? I don't really get it.
Why do you f&$@ care about other people’s comment? Do they help you get rich? I hate people complaining about others!! Why don’t you just mind your own business!! Understood?
It will help if Mama Olga uses a tong to flip the lumpia on the pan instead of a fork to protect her fingers. Homemade lumpia may be better, but some store bought ones also taste good and can be stored in the freezer for convenience and availability. We sometimes use different kinds of sauce with the lumpia, like sweet and sour, vinegar and crushed garlic, or any brand of banana ketsup, and we prefer the hot one. Continue to enjoy local cuisines and the hospitality of Filipino people, which you can share with relatives and friends when you go back to Russia. Much love from Los Angeles, California USA.
It is best to deep fry lumpia on medium heat. Just drain the oil by using tissues (placed on the plate before transferring lumpia from the pan) or putting your lumpia on a sieve to let oil drain after cooking.
I wouldn"t be surprised if, one day, mama olga stops cooking because of the comments from the so called culinary experts. Phrases like 'that's not the proper way of cooking ek ek, u shudn't do it like that or it shud be done this way, are getting out of hand. I hope she continue to do what she really loves. 😊😊😊
to really cook the lumpia , you need at least 3 inches of oil for deep frying and first heat the oil well before putting the lumpia , cook 8-12 minutes depending on the size of lumpia .. its important to cook well , otherwise you'll be sick with uncooked meat inside ..
Andrei, also try vinegar with garlic dip sauce, home made of course. Its another dipping sauce you can add. Plus vinegar and garlic is good for you. So, it's a win-win for over all taste. Just a thought for you guys to try as i know you guys like vinegar. ☺️
Please use tongs to flip and lift the lumpia so Mama Olga delicate fingers won’t burn. Oil should be hot before frying. Make sure the inside of the lumpia is cooked throughout. Good job, Mama Olga!
Since most already commented and suggested on deep frying the lumpiang shanghai, it’s also better to use tongs so it’s easier to turn and transfer to the plate once cooked.
Homemade lumpiang shanghai is best. I prefer preparing it with a food processor so that the veggies will be minced as well. I also like to make turon, cheese sticks, vegetable lumpia with the lumpia wrapper.
Anothet kind of lumpia is use can tuna sutei onion garlic ,add 3 corned tuna in can,4beaten egg..salt and pepper..lrt it cool..then in lumpia wrapper..fride...dip in vinigar, salt prpper..sili..
Lumpia shanghai half kilo ground pork 2 pieces carrots mince 2 pieces turnips salt ground black 3sachets of knorr seasoning mixed them then put in small size of lumpia wraper samething to chicken just ground the chicken hope this help Andrei❤

I made lumpia from scratch ,marinade ground pork, chopped carrots garlic onion ,so that with vegetable with egg,soy sauce, pepper and salt, then wrap same that small size, deep fry more crispy ,yum
If you can cook meals not always using processed ingredients. Since you're a family in the countryside, not too stressed, it's best to cook with natural ingredients for your health. Everything we buy from supermarkets are all processed foods and drinks. And lessen dipping in soy sauce to avoid kidney stones. Many Filipinos have kidney problems. Take care.
Andrei use small caserole so that you can deep fry the lumpia and then strain , the fried lumpia to avoid excessive oil, you can use also vegetable lumpia slice the carots into small pecies together with the cabbage n little bit ground pork fry all the ingredients together and set aside til cool down then wrap it with the springroll wrapper.
Please be advised that cooking it on low heat and limited oil will have the lumpia soak up the oil and become oily when eating. Like you said, its better to deep fry the lumpia. Filipinos dip the crispy treat in vinegar and garlic . 🤗
When you make a home made lumpia I recommend to choose a lumpia wrapper that is unsalted flavor. There are two flavor of lumpia wrapper these are Salted and Unsalted
It depends on how much lumpia you're cooking and then deep-fried them but with a few being cooked, it's more efficient to use just enough oil rather than wasting the excess oil. And That's what I noticed Mama Olga was doing here and in her kitchen her rules. Just my opinion.
Andrei, Lumpia should be deep fried. Making your own is much better. You can also use tuna flakes, steam the fish first then shred into fine flakes. Mix with shredded carrots, finely chopped onion, pepper ad magic sarap. Mix well and wrap in lumpia wrapper which can be bought in the market. For the dip, you can use ketchup, vinegar with crushed pepper, salt and crushed garlic.
Mama Olga put plenty of oil in your pan and heat the oil first before putting the Shanghai you must low the fire so that it will not burn it must be golden brown n crispy ok
@tonyandlornadelosangeles6115 I know, it's still available in the Philippines and they are in Samal Island, Philippines. And it's not available in Russia. So they can use their own Russian seasoning.
Buko salad next especially on Christmas and new year🙏🙏🙏you have a lot of buko there you can make your own buko salad by adding fruit cocktail cheese condensed milk all purpose cream and gulaman (optional)the condensed milk and All purpose cream is 1 is to 1 ratio😅😅😅
Andrey....Next time try deep frying lumpia in boiling oil, like french fried potatoes. Fill a pot with enough oil to submerge a small batch. Heat the oil until it is bubbling like water. Fry lumpia until they are golden brown. Do not walk away from the stove. When a batch cooks, put another batch until they are all cooked. Lay them on paper towel to drain off the oil. Cooking lumpia the deep-fry method ensures that the inside is cooked thoroughly and that they are all crispy... You can easily make dipping sauce with vinegar, soy and crushed garlic ....banana ketchup is also delicious as a dip. Lumpia is also available in vegetarian option . There are many RUclips tutorials on how to make them .Андрей... В следующий раз попробуйте обжарить люмпию во фритюре в кипящем масле, как картофель фри по-французски. Not all because it will overcooked inside.. it's ok her homework
You know mama olga is very correct d u know that full of oil can kill you with so much cholesterol.. don't be mindful
They used paper towel which is more appropriate to use for the absorption of excess oil while tissue paper is generally used for personal hygiene.
@@cristinasumadchat605what does he/she mean is kitchen paper towel that is thicker and stronger than the tissue paper
You have to deep fry lumpia. Meaning put a lot of oil so lumpia will float on oil while frying
so it is not deep fry but floating fry?
And put little vinegar to the oil to preserve the long lasting crispiness of lumpia
Ako nga rin nababanas na sa mga feeling expert dito kung magcomment. Should be like this, like that blah blah

cilantro makes a difference

Those pre-made ones are so convenient. Semi-homemade is still good, Mama Olga!
Perfect sauce for lumpia are ketchup, sweet chili sauce, vinegar with garlic. Some like mayo garlic and mayo-ketchup

regular lumpia sauce is vinegar or ketchup.
Lumpia shanghai sauce is usually sweet chilli sauce, or ketchup. it doesn't pair well with vinegar.
When cooking lumpia, please use a lot of oil, and deep fry them for best result and outcome.
Mama Olga👍go go go keep rocking in the kitchen 🤘bravo Matvey & your dad Seryozha for being so kind to try everything👍

Sweet Chili Sauce (Thai brand) goes BEST with Lumpiang Shanghai.)
Fried lumpia,is much consume oil. Use Air fryer, more convenient and less oil. Yum😋👌
Better to add more oil when frying at low heat. Serve with sweet and sour chili sauce. Enjoy!
I made lumpia from scratch ,marinade ground pork, chopped carrots garlic onion ,so that with vegetable with egg,soy sauce, pepper and salt, then wrap same that small size, deep fry more crispy ,yum

I hope you will also feed the dog. It is a stray dog and it comes to you because it smells food. It looks thin.
Yes i agree., lumpia must be deep fried. Drain well before serving. Thanks
Yes, much better make it by yourselves, you can make also vegetable lumpia if you are vegetarian.

Its better to deep fry so everything will be cook also the inside...

Never let the lumpia touch the bottom of the pan , let it float and put it in a paper towel when it's done. That is not the way to do it.
