    Larian is a brilliant company. I applied for a job with them, and although I didn't get a job, they replied without condescending me. They said they would send my CV to their various departments and thanked me for applying and enjoying their games. Every other gaming company ignored my applications. Larian is a class act. If they care about/respect the people they don't want to employ, imagine how much they care about their employees, their product, and their customers.

Wrath of the Righteous has to be the most overrated and overhyped CRPG that exists solely for contrarians to bring up whenever discussing BG3. The only Larian Origin Character I've enjoyed was the Dark Urge, because it is fully customizable, and you dont lose out on a party member by picking it. While it has a history and backkstory is still truly felt like my character similar to how the Exile and Revan felt like my character when I played through Kotor 1 & 2.

    • @356z
      @356z 18 дней назад +1

      I think karlach might be the best origin to play just because your decisions won't impact her. But I havnt done an original chatacter yet so idk how the story gets effected, if it does (ie. wyll and myzora interactions)

    • @Bulsara777
      @Bulsara777 18 дней назад +1

      Yeah, If Larian wants to do origin characters in their next game, they should do more like they did with Dark Urge, you have a set past with a overarching story, but the character is still yours. Playing as one of the companions is a neat idea, but I don't think they should focus on that, just look at the player character stats Larian releases, Tav and Durge are the top ones by a lot. Instead of allowing us to play as our companions, create more origin stories like the Dark Urge for us to choose instead.

    • @turokken
      @turokken 17 дней назад +1

      I enjoyed playing as Sebille in DOS:2. I could create my own Assassin character, and create all the head cannon I wanted.... or I could go with the bitch that has dialogue and story beats *already written* and implemented within the larger story. Custom Characters don't have a Tattoo Needle that provides Lore and Narrative direction about her past victims and those she pursues.
      You can get a good feel for these characters and their stories by helping them along their path, as part of your party, but it hits different when you're the one playing the character and making the choices.
      Me pressuring Laezel into forsaking the gith'yanki isn't the same as playing her, experiencing the story through her eyes, and being the one to make the choice to abandon them at critical paths.
      I implore everyone to give Origin characters a shot, it adds a unique/new perspective on the events of the game

    I think I've done all the sub-classes by now (minus some of the ones provided by origin companions) and I'll say:
    - Monk (Open Hand) makes the game pretty easy when it comes to combat. I chose monk for my first Honor-mode run and even scarier encounters/fights weren't *that* challenging thanks to the insane amount of damage a monk can put out in a single turn.
    - Any high CHA character-class makes the game easier when it comes to interactions/DCs and trading. This goes for any of these classes but *especially* Bard which is one of the most enjoyable and versatile classes all around. Plus you get some very interesting unique dialogue options with Bard. If you're more into direct fighting (either melee or ranged), go College of Swords. If you want more of a caster-/support-style character, go College of Lore.
    I would also highly recommend a Durge play-through if you haven't done it yet. Lots of unique dialogue and scenes you'll never get as a non-Durge character.
    I would also, also recommend a "true" Honor-mode play-through as I found that having to rely on a single save-file makes things feel so much more consequential. Plus you'll earn yourself a set of golden dice if you finish it, so there's that.. :)

The increased difficulty offsets the combat advantages of having a larger party. I hate having to choose which characters you get to know by including in the party. To play TB with just one player and let the AI play your companions in combat as a very cool alternative playthrough (you can make the AI play all). Larian has stated that DLC was not done because increasing the level cap would involve spells and skills that would be incredibly difficult to implement with the same detail as the original game. While I'm disappointed I do understand. I played an epic campaign once and that was insane. My favorite character though, a dark elf who was a mate to Matron Baerne in Menzoberanzan. I don't play as myself, I roleplay my characters and bg3 is the first game from Larian that actually has me making characters (thanks to the amazing character creator and mods). In dos2 playing origin was the only option for me since I don't like the character creator and I liked it better. It feels like the character belongs more to the universe, which is all new for the player, while in a d&d game its easier to make a character because the lore is not new

    my only playthrough was as shadowheart...origin characters are amazing cause you dont lose a spot on a character with no history or background + you get the added history of an actual character. I greatly prefer a real character who is part of a world then created characters....granted sadly you do turn the origin character into mostly a silent protag (except Karlach for some reason she talks). Honselty this is also why i am now super interested in Witcher 4, cause they seem to be implying choices will be impactful like BG3, but you also get a character with a long history and depth and motivations in Ciri
