Mine: Words: The Tijuana Adventures of Samantha Groves is a Spain-American slapstick series created by Bob Boyle and Glenn Anderson. The series stars Nelly Sol Sanchez as Samantha Groves. The show was distributed by Walt Disney Pictures and The Summon's Theater Studios.
I wouldn't be surprised if Kamiya also built on this to create Bayonetta. The scene at the end where the suit rips across the ass and tits is very similar to how Bayo's nun outfit rips in the intro to the first game.
That's because this was by Gainax, which animated Panty and Stocking. Trigger was also formed by mostly staff who quit Gainax. So, basically, mostly the same people.
It's not a remake nor a sequel, it's actually an anime version of the Cutie Honey movie released a few months prior, though unlike the movie, that OVA contains nudity and has more character development. Both the movie and the OVA are directed by Hideaki Anno.
@@netako I finished this entry of Cutie Honey today but it left me confused about her publication history (as far as the anime goes.) Are each of her shows remakes? Are each of those shows stand alone? Do all of the events in one show add up to the events in the next? Is there a specific order to watch all of the shows in? I’m also confused about Honey’s sexuality. I know that the manga became the first Magical Girl Manga that had a male demographic. I’ve never touched the manga in my life, I’ve only read reviews about it and I don’t know if Honey being a lesbian/the sapphic undertones was apart of her legitimate character, if that was just a weird fetish or a marketing ploy.
@@Gemini053 This series is pretty much like the Lupin III franchise, it has multiple series and manga (the anime from 1973 is actually an anime adaptation of the manga, in fact the 1973 anime was released a few months after the manga), along with a live-action series and 2 movies, but most of them has its own story, so it doesn't really have a watching order. However both the newer manga from 1990 (simply called Cutie Honey) and the OVA New Cutie Honey are actually a sequel to the original manga from 1973, though for the latter you don't need to watch the 1973 manga to fully understand it. Also Honey is normally heterosexual but on Re she's indeed a lesbian, but since the story of Re is completely original and non-canon it doesn't really matter.
This animation style has aged EXTREMELY well. Many older anime look dated based on how they are drawn, but you wouldn’t think this anime is from 2004.
Well it's directed by Hideaki Anno afterall, one of the best Japan animator

This has Trigger Studio written (or rather drawn) all over. I really consider this as a predecessor to Kill la Kill, especially the first episode.
