Sometimes those harmony lines take me back to "Rainy Night in Georgia"...so good. Danny Gatton was such a big influence on so many, and probably never realized it - doesn't sound like he was ever happy with the biz side so kept his head under the hood of a hot rod much of the time. Thanks Guthrie - you've really got a natural knack for teaching that most players don't have.

Robben Ford likes to focus on the "flavor notes" vs those full chords with a 5th and another octave root. Leaves space to "fill it up" (Joe Pass-ism) as you change to the V chord or wherever....

My mind is blown! I’ve been looking for a channel like this for ages, with cats who can really play, talk about the nuts and bolts of the harmony and progressions they’re using. I love the way you guys talk about the ear. I feel vindicated by the last thing you said at the very end of the video. Sometimes the V chord needs to be looked at as the I cord and vice versa! Anyway, you cats have your harmony down so well that you could hang with Charlie Parker. And that’s the way music should be. Subscribed!
