Richmond Artist Speaks on Racist Vandalism of Arthur Ashe Mural

On Oct. 20, 2021, two members from the American neo-Nazi organization, Patriot Front filmed themselves vandalizing and spray painting over the Arthur Ashe tunnel mural in Richmond. Virginia. The following year Unicorn Riot published leaked video from within Patriot Front which identified the perpetrators as Nathaniel J. Noyce of Glen Allen, VA and Thomas Dail of Wake, VA.
On March 7, 2024 Unicorn Riot spoke with the mural's designer, Sir James L. Thornhill to learn more about the origins of the mural, as well as his reaction to the vandalism.
