    I just purchased the Aurora 300's after waiting for about a year. I waited too long. They fall within my wheelhouse of sound. I've had them for about five days and they've blown me away. I went and ordered an open box pair of Celans. I want to compare the Celans to my existing Buchardts. I'm gonna have to put something up for sale lol. Thanks for your great reviews!

      Can you please tell me how the Celans compare to the Aurora 300s? I mostly listen to 70s and 80s Rock New Wave and easy listening. Are they worth the difference in cost? I'm trying to find a pair of bookshelf speakers I can get away with without a Sub. Your help is most appreciated!

      @@vinylman6580 I have both, the Celans are quite a few classes above the Auroras in everything. While the Aurora is a very good speaker it doesn't wow like the Celan does. I don't know how much of a difference you would feel with your music though. I only listen to modern music in which the Celans make me routinely exclaim "Holy 💩" at how good they sound and the experience they provide.

    Great reviews! I have a question on the quality of the cabinet *lack of bracing, shoddy damping material, air gaps) and issues playing above 85db where things supposedly fell apart with the cabinet noticeably resonating!. Did you play them at louder levels? The reviewer opened up the speaker and there was literally no bracing very little shoddy acoustic material and air gaps/leaks in the cabinet!. I am wondering if this is a one off issue or just the quality level? Thanks for your assistance!

    Nice job. I have these. I like them without the treble cut. Just move them a little off axis. Psychologically not having a resistor in the path is better. They are beautifully made in piano black. The clean wool based cone material is nice. The tweeter has a unique face plate. The binding posts and port look cool. My old room has two walls with wood paneling so not in need of a wood finish. My 1st generation Canto Vento 7 have all metal drivers. I wanted a comparison. The Canton are made in Germany, amazing build quality. I love these even more. They cost me 3grand as a 10 yr old close out.

      When you have a few minutes and if are so inclined, please remove the woofer or binding post plate and see what you have inside for stuffing. 2 Channel Listening guy said all he has was thin poly sheets onthe sides and tops. @@dawidnowak3256 I have done nothing as of now, so I cannot have made any mistake. The actual wool stuffing was in mine when I received them as I said. I bought them used so it's possible that the prior owner added that. I have no idea though. I'm not sure what you mean by "cotton wool" as it translates. are you referring to the thin white polyester panels attached to the sides and top? That was all that was in the pair that 2 Channel Listening reviewed. If that is the factory standard then that is very minimal and thus can be improved upon. As to adding the bitumen foil material, doing so to any cabinet will reduce it's resonance (as will bracing) and reducing cabinet resonance is an improvement to any speaker.

      @damianzaninovich4900 Год назад

      I’m not going to take the drivers out. Just unscrewing and screwing back is going to lesson its attachment. I would trust the engineers at Heco before a RUclipsr who took them apart. I doubt that the cost of cabinet stuffing is more than a few pennys. I remember Sonus Faber saying they think it gives it a livelier sound in a Stereophile manufactures comment.

    • @mhester99
      @mhester99 Год назад

      @@damianzaninovich4900. Mechanically/physically unscrewing and screwing back will do zero. That’s Plain physics. But no big deal if you don’t want to know more about your speakers. Not everyone does or is interested in technical aspects of things. Wool stuffing is def not pennies. Every maker of everything makes cost choices and has to draw the line. Just like Heco does not use expensive crossover parts in these. They can’t afford to at this price point. A manufacturer makes something as good as it can be “at a given price”. Cost is never a no object thing except in the most crazy priced items.

I have a smaller room, treated well.. system: Kinki Studios EX-M1+, Denafrips Pontus + Iris 12th, Eversolo DMP-A6.. + Fluence RT85, EARp clone w/ vintage tubes... what do you recommend?

      @NemoPropaganda  Год назад

      oh man, you're asking me about 2 of my favorite speakers right now, this is a really hard question. The Buchard certainly is technically better but I think personal taste will be the bigger factor here. The Celan is more neutral slightly froward while the S400 MK2 by comparison is on the darker side. Both have good strong bass, buchards bass is a little stronger. I have not heard the SE however so I'm not sure how that model is different. If you can spend up to $3k though the Fritz Carbon 7 SE MK2 should also be considered. It's a little larger than both, splits the differennce in the treble region as far as bright or dark, but has much better sepparation than the other two in the midrange all the way up to the treble. It has the least bass of the 3 but the highest quality bass. I don't know if I'm being helpful or making this more confusing but those are my thoughts.

      I generally place all speakers 30" from the front baffle to the rear wall in my room, that's what sounds best. But every room is a little different so it's hard to be 100% sure. Any speaker with strong bass is usually going to need some room to sound its best.

      @@DG-rc6rr every room is a little different, personally I don't believe rear versus front port makes a big difference as long as you have at least 3 inches cr more between the speaker and the wall. Distance from the rear wall is going to affect bass response and imaging, and since every room is different it's hard to say if your room will need the speakers pulled out a lot or just a little bit. I wouldn't choose a speaker based on the ports location personally.

I am trying out Dynaudio Emit 20’s in my listening room powered by the Arcam SA20 integrated amplifier. Hi, great review, many thanks. I bought a couple of these HECOs (used). In my opinion, they lack the openness, airiness and space at the top, as many describe them. The treble lacks air and space at the top, even compared to the Elac DBR62. Maybe because the inner walls of my pair of the loudspeakers are covered with a layer of damping material, such as cotton wool. As far as I know, the walls of the speakers are not covered with anything inside from the factory.

    • @NemoPropaganda
      @NemoPropaganda  7 месяцев назад +1

      that sounds very odd and is not inline with most peoples experience of the celan. I owned 2 pairs of the DBR62 for a long time (great speaker!) and the Celan is much more open in the top frequencies and has much better separation and refinement overall. The Celan should be a really big upgrade over the DBR62 unless your amp is more budget, then sometimes budget amps can homoginze the experiecing making it difficult to hear the upgrade. Like on a $500 amp my S400 MK2 didn't sound that different than Revel M16, but on my higher end amps it's a huge difference. Higher end doesn't mean crazy expensive, even something reasonable like the $1700 CHoco EMEI will be fantastic! But most sub $500 avr or amp will not show you the upgrade very well. Hope that helps!

      The amplifiers are not so bad: Jadis Orchestra Reference, Lyngdorf TDAI-2200, Belles Reference 150A (3000-5000 $). I"'m not just talking about Elaсs, I also have anither bookshelves: Larsen 4.3, Audiosolution Overture 2, Guru Audio Q10, Scansonic M5 loudspeakers. Heco lacks aftertones, overtones, airiness, they don’t "sing", they don’t involve me. That’s why I’m "surprised", that’s why I’m wondering: has the speakers this 3 cm layer of cotton wool "from the factory" or someone had updated them. I read somewhere that after such an update the speakers became much more muffled.

    Hey there. Thank you for the video. I like your routine. I was very interested in these speakers for both their alleged high performance and I love the style. For some reason, I love the flowing lines of the Heco speakers, most if not all Revels and some of the exotics from Sonus Faber, Usher, Swan etc. At any rate, another reviewer had noted a very busy cabinet at high volumes and he said he could hear it. This was a heavy speaker at around 22 lbs or so, so I figured it was the heavy, stout cabinet that wouldn't vibrate, This reviewer went on to cover as much of the walls inside of the cabinet as he could with bitumen undercoating sheets. He showed the inside...no bracing at all. I was shocked. Maybe they figured the curved cabinets would me more rigid. He filled the cabinet with wool and put it back together. He claimed it settled the cabinet right down. You were in love with these speakers. I guess the cabinet harmonics didn't bother you? Still dig the looks. Thank you.

    Interesting review of a less familiar brand. Dynaudio Evoke 10 at 1,500 Euro (which I own) is a notable step up from the Emit 10s across the board and a strong challenger to any small room speaker.

    Man o man, why do you exist? I almost pulled the trigger on these many times for my 2 channel room,, I also own the Heco Aurora 300 and like them., but I couldn't find any reviews on them and I was looking for speakers to own for a long time so i had to be sure about them. I just bought the KEF R3 Meta speakers (Indigo blue) so I am set there. But I still want these. Even more after this video. I could buy for my home theater but I would want 3 across the front and I think they only sell them in pairs. Plus , I alreday have SVS across the front in piano gloss white. In, my experiences speakers are hard to sell. But man, I WANT THESE! In any case, I am glad for the review.

    Specs??, no frequency response info. HECO speakers have not been reviewed by most reviewers because they are too feeling good for the money! Andrew Robinson loved the HECO Aurora 700 Towers as one of the best Speakers he ever had in house…buuut never mentions them in comparison with any other systems. The build quality of this speaker is literally “UNAPPROACHABLE” from any other offerings under 3 Grand!! I have the original KLH Kendall Towers which when I got them for 1299.00/pair, which are the only other Speakers the are in the same class both Sonically and Value, but pale in comparison to looks!! HECO is a real “Giant” killer when it comes to High End, which is why they go under the wire of the most popular reviewers.

      You don't want to be european then... Focal is one the few examples where it's not the other way around. Heco for example is more expensive in europe and that makes no sense at all as they are a European company.

      The high-end flagship from Heco
      LOUDSPEAKER TECHNOLOGY TAKEN TO EXTREMES
      If developers can draw on the full technological potential, if material costs only play a minor role and product designers have a free hand in designing, then high end is created in its purest form. La Diva, our new top model, fulfills all of these requirements and, despite its name, is extremely sociable.
      HIGH AND MIDRANGE PAR EXCELLENCE
      The alpha and omega of excellent sound are carefully selected components and these are in abundance in the La Diva. A 2nd generation Fluctus tweeter is used in the high frequency range. The 30mm polyfiber compound dome sits in a solid aluminum front plate, which has the special wave geometry that gives the tweeter a perfect dispersion. A powerful double magnet system guarantees unadulterated performance up to the highest levels.
      The elaborately designed midrange is driven by an AlNiCo magnet system. The combination of aluminum, nickel and cobalt, which is responsible for the name, offers extremely high magnetic field strengths and is extremely temperature-stable, which means that our midrange is unsurpassed in terms of dynamics and resolution. The 25mm voice coil provides the thrust for the tightly clamped membrane made from the legendary HECO kraft paper. This is made from pre-selected, Nordic coniferous wood with particularly strong fibers, which is superior to conventional paper membranes, as their strong fibers together with wool threads from German production form a tightly connected fiber network that combines maximum stability with minimum weight. The separate mid-range cabinet is open to the rear and aperiodically muffled.
      BASS HIGH SIX
      The bass membranes of the Heco La Diva are of course also made of kraft paper. Two 200 mm models with 32 mm voice coils work synchronously in the baffle. But that's not all: four bass radiators, two on the right and two on the left, ensure an even deeper bass down to 17 Hz.
      The connection terminals, which not only offer the option of tri-wiring and tri, demonstrate that the technical care does not end with the details -Amping separately for each frequency range, but also enable the high-frequency range to be adjusted by +2 dB and the mid-range range by -2 dB. It goes without saying that behind all this there is an elaborate crossover with components with the tightest tolerances.
      A CASE LIKE OUT OF A TEXTBOOK
      All of this is packaged in a housing that is second to none. Solid and with a streamlined cross-section, it nips resonances inside in the bud. With its noble and timeless piano lacquer, the La Diva is an eye-catcher in every living environment. However, it derives its special charm from the details made of solid aluminum. Both the base plate with its adjustable metal cone tips, which guarantee a safe and precise stand on any surface, as well as the side struts that protect the passive radiators from unintentional contact, are made of the high-tech material. All of this adds up to a total weight of an impressive 49.8 kg per speaker, perfectly proportioned to a height of 124 cm, width of 38.5 cm and depth of 46.5 cm.

      when something about a stranger disturbs you it's generally a reflection of something inside you that is unresolved. I'll admit I can be arrogant, no doubt about that, I'm arrogant enough to have started a youtube channel, I'd even go as far as to say all youtubers are vain and arrogant to some degree but the fact that it disturbs you is your issue you must resolve. Maybe it's jealousy, maybe you're unhappy inside about something else, I don't know, I'm not your therapist but please improve yourself from within. This kind of comment makes you look very ugly on the inside.
