Amazing vid Pete. That was really insightful hearing Andy break it down
Wow. This video really changed the way I think of putting. I've never seen such an insightful video on putting, made me understand that putting really is science! Fantastic stuff Pete, thanks to you and Andy! Made me want to take a putting lesson..
cheers bud, it's certainly worthwhile
Interesting video...doesn't seem long when the info is good...Thanks, Peter
no worries
That was well worth the wait.
Brilliant informative vlog; really informative and educational
Can't wait for the next one[s]
Cheers
no problem, loads more to come
It's comforting to see Peter struggle to make instant change with coaching. I left my swing lesson feeling like an idiot who can't follow instructions because I couldn't break the habits I have.
it's tough to do but change will come with perseverance
Really insightful video. Its such an important part of the game yet it seems until now a part of the game not many people have put much time into so its going to be great to see all the videos about how your putter stroke changes which will also help all of us that may have issues with putting like myself. Thanks again Peter!!!
no problem
What a great lesson Pete, very interesting.
Very interesting and great job with the visuals and the video together.
thank you
Fantastic video. Learned a lot, very impressed with Andy Gorman. Thanks, Peter!
Great video Pete, so much information! Really detailed on the most important part of the game⛳️looking forward to the next video!
loads more to come :)
Fascinating video. Absolutely LOVE all the stats, so cool the technology we have nowadays. Looking forward to more videos on putting!
Very detailed video on the most important part of the game when you reach a certain level. Good stuff.

saw a one handed video on putting on RUclips which was to find which hand was dominant, since using one handed putting, mine is righthand, my putting has improved massively and virtually stopped my bad shot , the pull, awesome video Pete hope hand feeling better!
one handed putting is certainly a great drill
nice vid pete it was interesting to see the in depth perspective of the short game.
Really really awesome video Pete. Really enjoying this series. Thanks very much for always giving us unique and interesting videos on this game we all love (and hate. And love 😂)
Very interesting stuff Peter. Thanks for sharing.
Now I have to find a local SAM guy in my area...
there will be someone somewhere
I'm sure he was at the Scottish Golf show. Spoke to him for a while, would love to get a putter fitting at some point.
Excellent video and has me thinking about booking a putting lesson with my pro as he uses SAM putting lab as well
give it a go, very interesting
Great vid as usual. Need to work on the follow through myself. I have the same long follow through on my putting. Could be why I am a terrible putter. Thanks Pete
haha no worries, get practicing
Great fitting looking forward to catching up just the tonic !!
fantastic video. can't wait to try a few things, especially the more upright posture. I've been playing shorter putters but i may switch to longer
Great video. I’m hoping to buy a new SC Newport putter. Also Sam put lab fitting aswell when lockdown ends.
Love this stuff! Great detail on putting.
Great video as always Mr Finch!!☺☺☺☺
thank you
great video pete!
thanks
Cracking vid again Pete, did you manage to have a round at Wishaw???
unfortunately not but may go back
Well if you do buddy, give us a shout and I'll sign you in, I'll even get you a mars bar.
I had no idea that there are so many different factors in a simple putting stroke.....well dissected. I have always been a "wristy" putter and when I tried "locking" my wrists and swinging from the shoulders, I felt like I am holding a lump of 4x2 in my hands with no feeling at all.
Do I need to just persevere until I get that feeling? or is there something else I should try?
Great video.
Awesome video, such a shame about your hand hope it recovers soon. Next year will be your year just keep up the hard work and the open will be yours! #questfortheopen2017
cheers Oli
Really interesting vid Pete,
Im curious as to why he really focused on the swing after impact needing shortening I would have thought that this would happen naturally if you lengthen the back swing and speed the back swing up a little, if you kept the long follow through then the ball would just go miles too far. So with some good practice on the length/speed of the back swing Speith style (2000 putts lol) you will automatically fix the long follow through. I may well be wide of the mark here it just seems logical to me rather than getting you to focus mainly on follow through?
it was more the follow through was symptomatic of a slow backswing and trying the help the ball to the hole, making the through stroke a little more abbreviated should help with that
I liked this video particularly the work you did on the basis of the results. Given the amount of "maths" claimed to be used analysing only 5 putts, with no dispersion (of path, face, impact point, dynamic loft) analysis only gut feel, no actual distribution or standard deviation analysis, I'm sure there is plenty enough processor power in order to give a much clearer picture - especially if your sample set was a lot bigger (minimum 30 putts)
Don't get me wrong I think this is good, but I think it could be so much better!
Great video
ta
Peter; what is your putter length? and does Andy have a preferred length seems others are suggesting 33 !
cheers
Oh, nice. I want to write software like that. Who develops the SAM putt lab? Are they hiring?
Funny thing is the one you hit 11mm of sweet spot was the only centre cup lol
Andy seems very knowable.
How much would a session like that cost. It could be worth the drive up from London!!!!
check out his website linked in the description below
Interesting that the first putt was worst strike yet was the closest to center of cup when Pete made it.
might groove that toe strike :)
Tragic news about the end of your quest for the open Mr Finch. I think you would make a great caddie for Mr Shiels should he qualify. 😊 ⛳
haha not sure about that but I'll be down cheering him on
Would you try a mallet putter ?
used one in the past
In general putter lengths should be 34" and more depending on height
Finch born in '86???? The big 30! Haha, sorry, great video, very informative!
this year :(
I wonder what the computer would have to say about Isao Aoki?
I just get fitted with putters using feel
Weird eh great vids tho chin up for next years open Pete
thanks Loz
I would prefer the analysis based on more than 5 putts
nice technology...
Interesting how Pete can't bring a 1-1ratio in his Putt.
Anybody know how to reach Peter by email??
Thanks!
