Still vastly disappointed by the fact that LEGO used the 2012 Batman head and cowl Battinson 10 years later

I really feel like it would have been at least acceptable if they'd used the short cowl and done a new face print. The old cowl and reused print just feel cheap, especially compared to the really great build I'd the Batmobile

@@Firelord91021 Eh, if they do care a little to other franchises except DC. Lego be making sets for every Marvel movie while DC had dirt, they didn't even gave Shazam a set while even Marvel's What If series got CMFs.

Your custom is obviously way better than Lego’s, but the armor doesn’t look as grey as it does in the movie.
I loved the movie, it scaled up to the Dark Knight Trilogy imo! And your custom Batman is looking fantastic!

I don’t think it beats The Dark Knight but I think it’s better than Batman Begins and The Dark Knight Rises by a long shot
First of all, your Robert Pattinson Batman custom looks incredible. And I know I’ve said this before but, the quality of that custom truly shows how much time and effort you put into your customs.
Secondly, compared to your figure it’s just kind of sad how far off Lego’s is.

For the cowl, I feel like they should’ve used the Batgirl cowl piece from TLBM, except it wouldn’t have the peg on the back for the ponytail, and it would be in black. And on top of that, it doesn’t cover the minifigure eyes. It works so well

So I pulled a 9 year old you and started doing some of my own sharpie customization to my Battison (the official Lego one). I added some of the small details they missed on the legs and I don’t have those black widow arms everyone’s using so I made my own. I also took the cowl they used, cut the bottom half off, sanded the crap out of the rest of it until it looked like the one from the movie, and finally made a new head. Just wanted to say this because you really inspire me to make customs and while I don’t really do full custom paint jobs and sculpts like you, I love making my own semi-customs to improve existing figures. Thanks for all you do man and keep up these amazing videos.

It’s seriously time for LEGO to make a new cowl. I expected them to do something like Caps Endgame cowl piece, with bat ears. Even Batgirl’s cowl from The LEGO Batman Movie looks closer than what we got
i love the classic lego batman cowl, i never want to see an official lego piece in the future without it

The first video I ever saw of yours was your Dark Knight Rises minifig video way back when I was 11 in 2012. I have only seen a few videos since then, but I've been waiting for you to do a The Batman video just to let you know this, and that I've been watching for 10 years. Its amazing to see how far you've come!
Yours really looks stunning, even with the minifigure proportions it captures the look and bulk from the film.
I got the upgrade arm and head parts from Firestar Toys, and just used those and the shorter cowl on the official minifig and it goes a long way to improve it.
Even then there's at least a lot of easy fixes to the official minifig like using the Black Widow arms, or heck the one grimacing head from the Lego Batman Movie sets does a good job at least mimicking the personality of Pattinson's Batman even with cartoony white eyes.
At the very least I think they should've used the cowl with shorter ears, that alone I feel would have gone a long way to improve the look.
At least every other minifig was pretty close, Gordon and Penguin's hair I think could've been different, and Riddler without the hairpiece and adding a green Arrow folded hood and any black legs with detail instantly makes that minifig better.
And this is exactly why 12 year old me subscribed to mgf and started to paint my own mini figures 👍

Edit: Also funny thing, if you look at the production times for these sets, Bruce Wayne's head was gonna most likely designed for this wave of sets, meant to resemble Pattinson, but due to movie's (and sets) getting delayed it was re-used in other figures before these sets were released

The first being the transition from Lego to the custom and improving upon it

If they had just used the 2014 short cowl for this figure that would’ve been far and away much better than the one they ended up with. Still not perfect, but better.

I think they pretty easily could’ve used the later version of Captain America’s helmet as a base and just added the “bat ears” to it and it would’ve probably been spot on for Pattinson’s helmet like cowl. Awesome work though, thanks for sharing!

What I find especially funny about the new Batman mini-figure is that they had the right face print but for no reason at all decided not to use it despite the fact it was the main face for a Batman mini-figure pre dating the Batman movie. Y’know the pale one that a lot of people didn’t like because of how white it was, that would have been perfect for Pattinson!

The type 3 cowl would've worked so much better, and while I understand it still takes manpower they didn't really have, a small chest piece similar to the Lego football pads would've really made it pop, especially if they'd added the collar to it.

Love the improvement Ross! Honestly I’ve always been a huge Marvel fan, but I found myself liking Batman the most out of all DC characters. I loved the movie as well!

Something that gets me is how long it took them to make a question mark piece for Riddler's cane after giving him a crowbar for so long.
I really want them to make a new Batman cowl, not necessarily a Battinson one but just a new one it's been way too long

Genuinely I think that the 2012 cowl looks better for the '89 suit than the custom one they made for that one set, it's so stupid that they made a new cowl to replace one that's totally fine for one Batman set but won't make a new cowl that would have improved an entire wave of sets

Hoping we'll get a large scale version of Pattman's batmobile and they'll include a better looking figure there, I went ahead and grabbed lifebricks Pattman because I'm not much of a painter
Boy do I have a set for you, it’s called the Lego technic Batmobile from the Batman it’s $99.96 and is available almost everywhere it doesn’t include mini figures but it’s big and awesome
@@Averageguy-qn4vp I'm not talking technic, I'm not a huge fan of that set. I'm talking similar to the UCS Tumbler or 1989 batmobile style.
Sorry, we got a technic set and that’ll be it for like a decade.

For my lego the batman fig I used a regular soft cloth Cape not a batman one the shorter cowl a black collar neck piece and the cmf loki head with a white band under the eyes

Bro litteraly roasted Battinson's unmasked head that Lego made. LEGO needs to explain why they used the cowl and head from 2012 for Robert Pattinson's Batman. Ross, your Batman minifigure is way better than LEGO's Batman minifigure.
Why does everyone seem to hate the old cowl? I like it much more than any other one they’ve made because all the other ones (including the one you made for the custom) make his head look super wide and big. it looks like megamind trying to fit his head in it. the original one meanwhile is taller therefore making the width not so obvious. I like the original design, I’m the same way with the fact they changed the iron man helmet in some sets to something that looks worse.
I think (In my opinion) its just that its old, And doesnt fit the new Batman cowl, The ears are really long, Its overused, and the whole head thing that lego does with the Batman figures

Also consider adding some stubble to your custom I think it'd look good :)
