Yeah, no one's got magic like the Dead, but I figure I gotta try to add some chemistry. And then when people play along they're adding their own flavor to the mix.
WOOOOOOOO. I play by ear and this backing track tells my ear to get loose and have fun. close my eyes and think of Jerry. Blows me away every time. THANKS
Jeff your backing tracks have made me improve so much!!! So much different from a regular track and capturing the essence of the dead. YOU ARE THE KING OF DEAD JAM TRACKS THANK YOU!!!!!
This is the one. One of the first times I played with it I was recording and the way the track pushes forward with intensity as the jam continues is amazing. @3:42 I'm playing with this track...i think the beginning was the end of a pass with the older one. Deep pocket in this one. ruclips.net/video/twklfs_wr8k/видео.htmlsi=PRvL0PFW590pMLMJ
Long distance runner, what you standin' there for? Get up, get out, get out of the door Your playin' cold music on the barroom floor Drowned in your laughter and dead to the core There's a dragon with matches that's loose on the town Takes a whole pail of water just to cool him down Fire! Fire on the mountain Almost ablaze still you don't feel the heat It takes all you got just to stay on the beat You say it's a livin', we all gotta eat But you're here alone, there's no one to compete If Mercy's a bus'ness, I wish it for you More than just ashes when your dreams come true Fire! Fire on the mountain Long distance runner, what you holdin' out for? Caught in slow motion in a dash for the door The flame from your stage has now spread to the floor You gave all you had. Why you wanna give more? The more that you give, the more it will take To the thin line beyond which you really can't fake
This backing track rocks. A Lydian works over the parts in A, of course. It is also fun to play B major pentatonic throwing in that flat third to taste.
I always find it amazing how much effort you must be putting into these tracks. The first few I listened to (embarrassingly) convinced me that you had found live versions and somehow skillfully removed Jerry's guitars and the vocals. Yes, I'll admit that in public just to make a point. :-/ Thank you, Sir!
Very fun! This is definitely one of my favorites you’ve made yet. So groovy. Solo challenge just because why not: ruclips.net/video/q3QgX5m9KZI/видео.html

I dig the way you seem to be trying to illustrate the nature of the Dead by not just doing a rythm track but putting some magic in there
Yeah, no one's got magic like the Dead, but I figure I gotta try to add some chemistry. And then when people play along they're adding their own flavor to the mix.
I’ll say it once and say it again! Best dead/phish backing tracks on YT!

Hey man, could you please do Shining Star? Looks like nobody has done a track yet and it's gotta be one of the best songs for noodling!
This thing has great dynamics, helps me tell a story with the solo! Thanks man
Just a thought how about a track in the style of JERRY Garcia band version of dear prudence 👍🏾
That's a great one. I've got that one on my list. Just might have to bump it up!
Just picked up a Qtron + on the way to work so I gusss I know what I’m doing this afternoon :)

Sweet! Nice phrasing Joshua! So funky.
I’m about to jam on this one after a long day of working on guitars! Thanks again for these Jeff.
Hey no prob. Enjoy!
DUDE this stuff is so handy ,you my friend 🆓KEN ROCK !!
Glad it's helpful!
So, is this just a jam, or do we throw the lyrics in wherever?
I think the first verse would start at 1:53. I'm always meticulous with mapping the tracks out. I'm not sure why I dropped the ball on this one!
Dude you have the best backing tracks man! Thank you for the hours of fun and funk
Glad you like them Sean!
Digging this one extra
this is something fiercely good
Thanks Dave!
I love these tracks, keep it up!
Thanks, will do!
