      Hey Dayyan, I’m looking for a good lizard breeder out here in bc, I’m in Kelowna, but can get stuff shipped from Vancouver area I’m sure, you have any recommendations? This is the toughest part of getting into the hobby I’m realizing. I don’t know who (breeders) to trust

    Have you tried talking to Clint of Clint's reptiles? I cannot imagine him not being interested in talking with you about this situation. These are some of the cutest lizards I've ever seen. And there is a lizard called the Stargazer. That is apparently is incredibly expensive but they look so much like a dragon without wings. And these little cuties that you've got have the same look to them as the Stargazer. That beautiful little dragon head is what I'm talking about. And don't get me started on those adorable eyes. Get a hold of Clint

I would love a mate for mine someday. I have no idea if mine was wild caught. Someone just handed her to me one day in a deli cup as a gift. I totally appreciate what you're doing for this species.

    Get a male,(white eye) and keep them as a novelty item. Sell or trade the babies as needed, you can still focus on your red eyes, while still doing a service for the other species.

    Aww look at the cute lil babies 💚 I think its insane how much resemblance they have to crocodiles/dinosaurs they are so beautiful also those plastic tubs that you have the babies in (with the ventilation mesh on top) is it ok to keep reptiles in one of those tubs permanently rather than a tank, if you have all the requirements that they need?
    Also the beard and hair are fine I have only seen you with a beard and not without but it looks fine if the length is annoying you you could trim it down a little or just shave it off its up to you 😊

  • @eviehankins8223
    @eviehankins8223 3 года назад +1

    I think this is a wonderful idea and video. ♡ I feel the same about WC compared to CB. I think that this is a good endeavor though and the best reason to deliberately get wild caught individuals. Plus, it's not like you are doing it for money or for morph stuff, it's because you want the best for the wildnpopulation, which means we need CB options at competitive prices that will be healthier and happier than WC who have to acclimate. Overall it is just a good idea in the long run, and if you have the skill/knowledge/capacity then it is wonderful if you want to put in the work and time to make it happen. Anyway, I totally support it! An I may be interested in some one day too lol bc the WC thing is one reason I've not considered them more. :)

    hello great video Dayyan

  • @MrHavadollar
    @MrHavadollar 3 года назад

    I'm glad you've gone through with it, Dayyan. I am also against public trade of wild source programs for moral reasons as well as cutting down on the illegal part of the exotic pet trade. Some advice from a philosophical point of view is to think about whether or not your idea is an economically feasible idea on all of the levels and why people might be having a problem with it. Is it feasible for you, your community of reptile hobbyists, the larger community of reptile owners, and then public domain keepers, like zoos and exhibits? Being feasible for you is your personal decision. You wouldn't have as many arthropods in your collection if things like larger boarding of reptiles for ownership of another species was an issue. Being feasible for other hobbyists is another issue because as you said, there just wasn't the level of interest, or rather there are typically legal issues in the places where many of us live. Like I just learned I can't own any so long as I live in Florida. I have to read the rules all the time and there are so many. It just matters how an animal is classified by my state, even if my state is dumb. There are a lot of introduced species here and the state is trying to (at least look like they) manage it better. So it isn't as economically feasible in that close circle. Those are the people who are going to disagree. For them, it's about the support and whether they think your efforts are being wasted. So what? Bigger picture, your idea can have an effect on private ownership and public exhibits. In other words don't undersell the conservation possibilities. I'm sure some interests locally up there wouldn't mind sourcing from you. You could make considerable money while having a good time doing what you love.

    I love this idea! Very selfless and noble of you good sir! I love "Nova" keep her and later get a male. It would be interesting to see if there is any difference in personality if any. Probably not or very little. You will give her a wonderful home and if she goes back....hard to say. And the crowd chants NOVA STAYS, NOVA STAYS 😂 oh...no pressure.
    I kid, it's your life your journey, I think you are making a phenomenal decision to breed CBB baby dragons🙌💓

    Glad I found your videos, I am very much looking forward to getting a crocodile skink. Currently I have an axolotl and greatly appreciate viewing creatures from a distance and still be able to enjoy them :)

    I don't know if you'll see this and I'll copy this message into the comment you made, just a heads up!
    Have you tried talking to Clint of Clint's Reptiles, Chandler of Chandler's Wildlife, Kenan from Camp Kenan, or NERD? I think with your stock these RUclipsrs would be more than willing to trade or help you get your stock!

    I've been wanting to get into reptile breeding in a bad way. I was going to start with Eurydactylodes, I'd love to start breeding Crocodile skinks. They're such amazing little lizards.

    Them being shy/fearful (and therefore stressed) and not cbb was turning us off from them, but you're 100% selling us.
    I don't mind not handling, I just don't want to have terrified captives in my house.
